Hello, i'd like to know about the boats use, the history about where its been, the longest period of time it has sat at the dock. And its last haul out, repairs, bottom paint, zincs, through hull changes and/or repairs, has it had a resent survey, did it have any rot & where it was if it did, & who did the repairs. How is the hull constructed; is it a plywood or plank & chaulk. And last but I doubt really my last questions, hows the ol'girls muscles? What repairs has she had done? Are they strong, how much fuel does she burn an hour, how is the genset? What electronics are onboard and do they function ok. Is there an auto pilot and gps nav on board. Im sorry to ask so many questions but I Was a new buyer one day of a 42' Owens and wished I had asked those question, especially after the fiberglass tub and 1/4 " ply wood was peeling off as I was under way. And when the holes were p unched through the bottom as it was being set up in drydock. I hope you understand. Its not nessesary to have to have every thing working or fixed, but it would be nice to know about the things that need attention. Thanks, Tom
P.s.you want to hear a scary but funny story? Ask me about my set adrift for two weeks after my outdrive hand grenaded on me trying to come in the goldengate during the push of low tide going out the gate. It can be a good test of a boats bron, as the current runs out of the SanFransico bay around 6-7 knots. I was testing out. My 26' bayliner after a minor restoration. I was using the boat for a live aboard through the week as i worked in the bayarea and lived up in pilothill, ca. To save myself the drive, i bought the boat from the seascouts. It would be my first boat with which I could live on aweek at a time. I was so glad I went grocery shopping earlier that day. What an adventure. Ttyl, tom
