Vortex Storm

A higher performance version than what is now being marketed by Vortex's USA distributor as the Rebel "Bandit," the Storm is an established, world championship winning design. It's pretty much impossible to find a craft this nice at this price, but it needs to find a new home with someone that will be able to use and enjoy it. Rebel Hovercraft sells this craft starting at $13,995 - so here's your chance to get it at half cost!

I no longer have the ability to store this hovercraft so my loss is your gain. This machine is lighter and more nimble than the 30 year old SCATS that are way overpriced on classifieds board. It has approximately 6 hours TOTAL of run time (hour meter in the picture shows 4hrs 45mins), most of which is from tuning and test driving in a large field. I raced this craft once and then it's been parked indoors because I just don't have the time to fly anymore. It is in like new condition and is NOT just a race machine. You can have a lot of fun with this on your local lake, pond, field, river, snow, etc.

This hovercraft is made with top quality components, including a state of the art fan drive system with a Hascon fan, DRYGlide throttle cable, tiny tach digital tachometer/hour meter, and Westach 3 exhaust gas temperature gauge. This lightweight hovercraft (only 340 lbs) is constructed from molded fiberglass and has a Kevlar reinforced bottom for extra impact protection. The steering is a PWC type steering system with a push-pull cable moving two rudders. The skirt is in excellent condition and skirt patterns are included to make new future skirts. I will also include a spare parts engine that can be easily rebuilt (melted piston) if the "Buy It Now" option is used. There is no reserve on this auction - so if you bid you can win. This craft has always been stored inside and I haven't started it since fall. Since I've never operated it on public water I've never licensed or titled it (not required in Indiana if on private property) but I will provide you with a proper bill of sale so that you can.
