Starcraft Seaking

We have for sale a 1962 Starcraft Seaking. According to what I can find, this is a 14-foot aluminum runabout, sometimes called a "picnic boat" back in the day.This boat was originally purchased new off the lot in Michigan by my wife's grandfather, and we "inherited" it a few years back upon our moving down to the Lake Norman area. Unfortunately, we're just not up to the task of restoring this old gal, nor are we really "boat people", and it's sat in our garage and ever since.We'd rather see it go to a good home where it can be appreciated for what it is. It comes equipped with the original 40hp Johnson Motor. In its original configuration it was made to seat a family of five, with two front bench seats and a front-facing rear bench to accommodate three.PLEASE READ: From the pictures it should be clear this would be a restoration project...it obviously needs work. Unfortunately we have no idea if it leaks, or if the motor runs or what it will really take to get this old gal back to running condition. The hull seems to be in fine shape - no rust or damage - and it's been garage stored for the past few years, but we make no warranty or guarantees. What you see is what you get.That said, knowing my wife's family, it was well cared for. I suspect some paint, a new windshield, some elbow grease and bit of engine tuning would have this boat water-worthy again. Price includes the trailer. It's ready to be towed-off.How much further to take the restoration will be up to the buyer - restore it to its former glory with some retro upholstery, or make it your own and turn it into a great fishing boat perfect for those early morning runs.Either way, this is a great opportunity to get yourself a nice classic.
