(dry)Intended Areas of Navigation: Coastal, Bays & TributariesSummaryThis Crownline 262 CR is in fair condition given her age. Inspection of the hull was limited during this in-water appraisal, but no obvious signs of damage were noted. The decks appear to be in serviceable condition based on visual inspection and random percussion soundings, despite areas with long hairline cracks. The engine was not operated and the sterndrive not inspected. Engine exhaust risers and elbows are severely corroded and should be replaced. Exhaust manifolds should be inspected by a qualified mechanic and may need to be replaced as well. The boat overall is in need of a thorough cleaning and the cockpit seating is weathered. The cabin interior is in good condition. It appears some major maintenance items have been kept on schedule. The codes and standards of ABYC, NFPA, and the USCG were considered while conducting this inspection and compiling this report.Hull Composition and StructureThis vessel is constructed with fiberglass composite and coring materials. The hull mould and superstructure are joined in a shoebox lid fashion with a vertical flange and a secondary bond inside the hull along the rail. This vessel appears to be built in accordance with sound boat building practices. The hull was inspected visually above the waterline. The hull gelcoat was somewhat chalky, but otherwise serviceable. The deck and cabin liners were inspected visually and by taking random hammer percussion soundings. The cockpit deck had long hairline cracking at various locations, and on the console at the windshield pass though. Moisture meter readings were not taken. Osmotic blistering on the hull was unable to be observed. The boat had a starboard list; however, the owner advised this was due to a full black water tank on starboard side which was verified during survey. The bolted swim platform was free of damage, but its anchor bolts should be snugged up to the transom. The foredeck is free of significant cracks or crazing. To the extent practicable, there were no signs of delamination, areas of voids, or compromised structural integrity.Propulsion MachineryThis boat is powered by a 2002 MerCruiser 350 MAG MPI with 300 hp and a MerCruiser Bravo 3 sterndrive. The sterndrive, propellers, and trim tabs were not accessible for inspection. The engine serial number as read from the engine cover is 0M359678. The helm hour meter indicated 468.5 hrs.The owner advised the engine serpentine belt had been removed and the engine was winterized, so the engine could not be started. There was evidence of some oil in the bilge and the engine was generally dirty. The exhaust risers and elbows were severely corroded (see photos) and should be replaced. The exhaust manifolds should also be inspected to determine if replacement is necessary by a qualified engine mechanic. The engine oil color was good and appeared to be new oil. The engine oil level was high, but this may be caused from an oil change without running the engine to circulate the oil. The engine oil level should be monitored. The sterndrive gear oil color was good and within normal levels.Tankage and PipingBluebeary has several tanks which appeared to be functional: gasoline, fresh water, black water and hot water. Associated piping and hoses did not show signs of disrepair where observed.Through hulls above the waterline were stainless steel (one plastic) and appeared serviceable. Through hulls below the waterline were inspected from the interior only. The through hull and sea cock valve for the AC unit was secure. This seacock is not in accordance with ABYC Standard H-27 for flanged seacocks; however, given this ABYC requirement is relatively recent and the seacock appears functional, replacement is at the discretion of the ownerElectrical Systems110V AC SystemThere is a 30 amp shore connection on the port side of the boat. AC systems include the Professional Mariner battery charger, hot water heater, refrigerator, stove, various outlets, and the Dometic air conditioning / heating unit. AC Power was not connected and these systems were not tested.12V DC SystemThere are two group 24 lead acid batteries located in the engine compartment. The batteries were secure. A Perko battery switch is below the aft bench seat in the cockpit. DC Systems include the refrigerator, cabin bilge, fresh water pump, lights, shower sump and an accessory circuit. A Horizon electric windlass is operated from the helm. These systems were not tested as part of this appraisal, but cabin lights did power on. Switches at the helm were free of damage but not tested. Where observed, 12V DC wiring was multi-stranded copper and was otherwise secured, bundled and run neatly in accordance with ABYC Standard E-11.Electronic Navigation Equiment and Helm InstrumentationThis vessel is equipped with a Lowrance Elite-5HDI fishfinder, Ritchie analog compass, Lowrance depth finder, and Garmin GPS probe. Faria helm gauges were in serviceable condition.Dewatering SystemsAn electric bilge pump was installed in the engine compartment. Operation of this bilge pump with the helm switch was verified. A cabin bilge pump and shower sump is located under the mid cabin berth.Shipboard AmenitiesTopsideThe cockpit vinyl seating has moderate weathering and discoloration (see photos). There are some areas where vinyl is cracking, or has small tears and holes. A professional cleaning and detail should restore the seating to fair condition considering its age.InteriorThe cabin interior and vinyl seating were in good condition. Condensation was noted, but there were no odors nor signs of mold. The combination forward berth/dinette and mid cabin berth were serviceable.Galley and HeadThe galley includes a microwave, alcohol/electric stove, refrigerator and sink. The head includes a Jabsco manual head, sink and shower fixture. None were tested, but did not appear to be in disrepair.Canvas and CoversThe cockpit cover installed on the boat was in serviceable condition. The owner advised the vessel has camper canvas tops in fair condition and a Bimini top that is new last year.Findings, Remarks and RecommendationsRecommendations and findings are provided below. Refer to the referenced section for additional remarks. Recommendations are considered essential for safety and proper function of the vessel.Recommend the engine exhaust risers and elbows be replaced as they are severely corroded.Recommend the engine exhaust manifolds be inspected by a qualified marine mechanic, and their recommendation on replacement followed.Recommend operation of the engine and sterndrive be confirmed, and inspection by a qualified marine mechanic.Recommend a thorough cleaning and detail of the cockpit seating, to restore and protect the vinyl to prevent any further degradation. Therefore, after consideration of the reliability of the data, the extent of the necessary adjustments, and the as is, where is condition of the vessel, its equipment as surveyed, and the assumption equipment unable to be tested is in serviceable condition, it is my surveyor opinion that the FAIR MARKET VALUE of the subject vessel and equipment is: $20,000.An Estimated Replacement Value for this vessel is $80,000.THIS BOAT IS BEING SOLD WITH MARYLAND TITLEVESSEL IS LOCATED IN ANNAPOLIS, MARYLANDTHIS VESSEL IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR VIEWINGANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS VESSELPLEASE CALLKYLAANYTIME AT PH# phoneSHIPPING OR TRANSPORTSHIPPING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER.
