About The Boat1953, 63 foot Chris Craft Motor YachtOnly six of these yachts were built. Three for military use and three for private sale. Ours was the first of the six constructed and the last remaining. The vessel was originally delivered to Havana Cuba in 1953 to Burke Hedges, Cuba's Ambassador to Brazil. Also referred to as the ambassador of FUN. He named the boat Yemaya, which is the Ocean Mother Goddess in Santera.Shortly before Castro became Cubas leader, the yacht left Marial Harbor and headed west. It traveled through the Panama Canal and eventually made its way up the Pacific Coast to Ketchikan Alaska, where it was used for fishing charters and oil rig transportation. The yacht also spent time in Portland, OR and was owned by a couple for recreational use. It was last documented in Mexico in 2002. Then the vessel eventually made its way to Bethel Island, CA, where it had a couple of owners before.Original Name - YemayaAka - Monte CarloAka - Tir na nOgFloor plan includes.* Large 10X14 Salon* Nice sized Galley with dining booth* 7 bed and 3 private bedrooms* Captains Room 1 Twin Beds * Guest quarters 2 Twin Beds * Owners Suite Queen Bed * Crew bunks 3 Twin Beds* 3 Bathrooms* 2 Shower* Large room off deck and helm that could be used as an office or bar. We used it as a Tiki Bar.Current ConditionThe boat was hauled out 4 years ago and surveyed (available upon request) fasteners were checked and good. The bottom was power washed, sanded, cotton replaced in needed areas, and it received 2 coats of paint. The entire plumbing system was replaced from the source to fixtures with PECS. A top-of-line whole-house water filtering/softener system and new water heater were also installed. Toilets need to be replaced.2 Detroit diesel engines run beautifully but one ran out of gas the last time we took it out and it needs to be primed and restarted. Gas tanks also need to be emptied and needs new, fresh diesel. The exterior of the boat needs some TLC. It used to be in a covered slip but the slip was destroyed in a storm a few years ago. 12-15 planks need to be replaced on the back port side of the boat due to weather damage. The fiberglass is cracking and needs to be recoated. This boat is beautiful and has a wonderful history but it needs love and attention.A link to a video walk through can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_PfpedMWxIJTvCuyWWceNSfqeBEHXLr5/view?usp=drivesdk
