Mercury

Up for auction is a very cool boat basically a tunnel haul race boat thats also a bow-rider. Hydrostreams are well known in the boat racing circuits for being very light very fast boats. Designed and built by Howard Pipkorn starting in 1968 his boats were very innovative and ahead of there time in many respects. This is a 1989 Vasseret the same as his Valero bow-rider with his YT haul which is pretty much a tunnel haul design which runs very stable at speed. Included is a 1990 Performance Custom trailer that was made for this boat and the YT haul design. Trailer is in good shape has Bearing Buddys good tires and a SPARE. Motor is a strong running Mercury Blackmax 150hp motor with 125-135 psi on all cylinders when I did a compression test yesterday. Motor has a 20" shaft with a 5" extension which is a little unusual but means that if you want to change to a low water pickup you could just remove that section. Boat was upgraded to a hydraulic Hydrive steering set-up and a CMC Power Lift jack plate. Also included is a custom 24p stainless prop in nice condition which should be a good all purpose design.I have clean PA titles in my name for BOTH the boat and the trailer!!!!!Now the bad news boat has sat a few years and needs some work. Yesterday when I ran it in my driveway water pressure was low I'm sure its just due for an impeller. Also fuel lines are brittle and quick connect at motor leaks and should just need a new o-ring. Gelcoat should be wet sanded and buffed out I shined it up quick for the pictures. Seats are overdue for rebuilding and floor is soft in the back. I bought the boat to fix up myself but have since lost interest and selling AS-IS. (Pictures taken today 5/17/2020)
