Wow. I owned this boat new. Not this kind, actually this very Chapparal 234. Had 3 years, then sold complete w/ EZ Loader trailer, this dive platform. Had Yamaha 200, ran 44mph. Also, I equipped her with oversized hydraulic trim tabs, VHF radio, Loran, depth finder, made custom docking, spring, and anchor lines with Danforth Anchor, made custom dive tank brackets (3 tanks per side), custom mounted Yamaha oil injection tank inside starboard rear compartment, custom mounted instruments, guages, and controls. Custom through hull wash down pump.Bought her bare hull with motor mounted, did everything else myself. Reason I can tell is same vessel: guage layout and dive platform ($230 in 1984!). Water Ski'd behind her in Bahamas. Very efficient hull, designed by renowned marine architect. Had 3 memorable years with her, including living aboard 17 days in the Bahamas after making 103 mile open water crossing, Lake Worth Inlet to Walker's Cay non-stop. Almost 3 mpg, fantastic for a boat!
