I have the same boat and for the life of me I do not know why there is a rectangular open box with 3 holes thru the transom that allows water from outside of the boat when I have loaded down with 4 or 5 people,,,
Now with no one in the boat then the box drains fully empty, Question is what is the purpose of that box?
I am thinking plug the holes and use a spray on type bed-liner material or Flex-seal for any possible leaking corner joints.
I have a 1971 Triumph Evenrude 65 hp motor pulls tubers and skiers just fine, If the motor ever blows up I am planing to put a 80 hp motor because the safety tag on the boat states 7 persons max 80 hp max. this should make the boat skip the water crazy like since it the craft is so lite alum.
I think your steering wheel, wind shield and beautiful control dash is not original. however all nice looking!
\and yes I too get a lot of thumbs up both water and road!
