I’m interested in your 1939 Chris Craft 19’ runabout. I’d love to get some additional information about this boat, primarily the history and the extent of the restoration work on the hull and the status of the deck work and varnish. I am based in Chicago and have been looking for ‘39-‘42 Barrelbacks for our lake home up in Northern Wisconsin, and I’m very intrigued by this ‘39.
I’m not planning to show the boat as concourse-quality, but rather use and enjoy it while also taking great care of it while being a steward of this beautiful boat. In terms of the previous hull work, what was done and what’s the current condition? I’m interested in how long it would be before the hull would need to be redone, or if the previous work was done to the right standard. What I’m looking for is a “driver’s condition” pre-war Chris Craft that I can use and fully enjoy without treating it like a museum piece. It will sit on a covered hoist next to our 2014 Moomba LSV ski and wakesurf boat at our lake home up in Northern Wisconsin from Memorial Day through about October when we typically take it off the water and winterize and store it indoors with the dealer. Any chance you happen to have any shots of this boat on the water from the side and from behind?
Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing more about this boat
