Chris-Craft Special Sportsman

Up for auction without a

reserve is an easily-restored, classic Chris-Craft Special Sportsman project

boat. She is complete with pass-through helm seating and the optional padded

dash board that is in great shape.

Save for the relatively simply transom framing, all of the structural work has been completed already. She is complete. She is on a very roadworthy trailer.

And, because she has a plywood inner bottom skin, no soaking is required. She will float and stay dry right off the trailer. No soaking in is required.

The good:

• Chris-Craft Hercules KL engine and Paragon transmission spins freely, has good compression & was a running engine before it was pickled 7 years ago.

• Carb rebuilt last year by Chuck Hobbs, Hobbs Carburetor of NH.

• Extensive frame restoration completed keel, garboards, chines, most of the frames fabricated and installed.

• All original gauges, hardware, stern pole & flag, bow pole & burgee and bow light are with the boat.

• Comes with original stern pole/flag & bow pole/burgee, steering wheel/box/mounting block, rudder & prop shaft, shaft logs, prop, prop shaft, both lifting rods, all hardware for installing aft lift rod, & a Bimini that is very presentable and usable.

• Topside, covering boards and decks refastened.

• Plywood inner bottom layer means she is a floater. No soaking in is required.

• Bottom planks are with the boat & will make great patterns.

• What appears to be her original upholstery just needs some scrubbing with a good vinyl cleaner to be in near show-ready condition.

• Unblemished windshield.

• Shorelander trailer has new bearings and lights. It from VA to VT flawlessly.

The not so good:

• Engine box is not original & will likely be replaced during restoration.

• The transom framing and planking must be fabricated & installed. and will likely be replaced during restoration.
