Checkmate Entice

You are looking at a 17' Checkmate boat with a beautiful 115 HP Mercury outboard. The boat has a brand new pump with float switch, stand by wiring is there and just needs to be connected to the new pump. Four life vests and the boat cover will be included. The trailer is in good shape. No spare tire for this trailer. Some cosmetic scratches can be seen in the pictures.The boat finish is in good condition and has screw holes filled on the port side where a electric trolling motor was used, see pictures. Comes with four seat cushions two white one red one blue. Tachometer is installed but needs to be wired to controls. New drain plugs installed.The motor is a 1987 Mercury in-line 6 cylinder 'tower of power'. It was bought used in 2005, and a factory-trained Mercury mechanic overhauled the engine with 6 new Wiseco pistons, new fuel pump diaphragms, carb rebuilds, and fuel lines. As of Dec 2017 compression is even across all six cylinders. He put a rocker switch on the right side of the motor to allow trailer tilt as per modern motors (looks factory, but Mercury did not offer that feature on these motors). A new power trim unit was installed, as the original leaked. The oil injection system was taken off the engine due to the high failure rates of the late-80's design, and it was broke in with 25:1 TC-W3 oil x 18 gallons of gas, and then ran synthetic oil at 50:1 for the remainder of the approximate 100 hours on it. The gas and oil was hand-mixed and only ran 100% gasoline in this engine, and the engine was run in freshwater only, almost exclusively in Douglas Lake in East Tennessee. The engine was used to pull skiers and tubes, and rarely ran above 5000 rpm. It was fogged and stored correctly at the end of each season, and the lower unit oil was changed each year; the seals do not leak. The engine runs like a bat-outta-hell, and nothing else sounds like a 2-stroke, direct-charged, Merc 6-banger.
