1987 Boston Whaler Super Sport
Up for sale is my personal boat that I have used for the past few years. Unfortunately it is time for me to sell as I am no longer able to fully enjoy this beautiful Whaler due to my new job. I have had a wonderful time restoring this classic hull and am truly sad to seeher go. However, I would be much happier to see it go to a new happy family who can enjoy it more than I can. I have put countless hoursand moneyinto making this boat just right and have been called neuroticcountless times by friends and familydue to my attention to detail (I took it as a compliment obviously).
This is a Super Sport model that is fairly rare and based off the Montauk hull. It is a dual console, but the previous owner removed the passenger console to make the deck more easily accessible. The hull handles the water great and cuts through the wavesnicely. I have personally had this boat 10-15 miles off shore for some light fishing and it has faired surprisingly well. The boat has been stored on the trailer since I've owned it and has always been flushed after use in the ocean (which was rare) without exception. I have had 6 people on it with no problem and it has been great for towing a tube and skiers (this motor provides an amazing hole shot). I am very meticulous, so rest assured if it was broken it was fixed In fact, many things were replaced to simply give me peace-of-mind and/orto be moreaesthetically pleasing. This boat has never been in the water without being cleaned inside and out after use. It has been stored inside during the winters in a heated garage.
Since I have owned itI have replaced the following that I can remember:
- Custom Oak accents and console (w/ 6 coats of marine-grade varnish)

The hull is in great shape with just a few scuffs/scratches barely noticeable unless up close (the worst of which is shown in photos). I did the bottom paint and pinstriping this spring. I did the rub rail last year. The deck is solid as a rock and does not have any soft spots whatsoever. I glassed in some screw holes from the old gas tank and battery tie-downs and some fishing gear that the previous owner had installed, and as a result decided to paint the entire interior and transom so it would match. I tore all the wiring out and installed new wires and a new fuse box and battery switch this winter. The upholstery was done last year and is in new condition. It has a current CT registration good until 2015.
1984 Mercury 90hp "Tower of Power"
The motor is a 1984 Mercury "Tower of Power" 90hp. I removed a 50hp Johnson and installed the current engine myself in early 2013. In preparation for installation we cleaned the carburetors, changed the water pump and gaskets, changes the spark plugs, changed the lower end lube, changed the hydraulic fluid, added a brand new 19 pitch aluminum prop (and will include a 21 pitch stainless as well),changed the throttle cables, and greased the fittings. This motor has given me zero (0) problems since I have owned it and it starts right up every time. The power that this straight-6 cylinder delivers is unparallelled in modern engines and it is a true head turner. I can't tell you how many compliments I have gotten on this motor (and boat) since I've owned it. There are very few around in working order and in this condition, and I've never seen this combination of hull and motor ever (Boston Whaler used to fit smaller Johnson engines at that time).I can provide videos with this motor running in and out of the water upon request.
Galvanized Trailer
The trailer is in good shape and has been used regularly for the past year as I have not kept the boat in the water. I regularly make trips to the CT River which is about an hour from my house and have never had any problems. The tires are a few years old and have plenty of tread. The bearings were done last September as well as the lights. I never registered thetrailer due to my ability to use a dealer plate, but have the old registration and paperwork handy for the new owner.
This is an auction style listing with NO RESERVE, highest bidder takes her home period end of story.Boat is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. This is not a new boat, so please do not expect it to be free of general wear and tear. That being said, it has been a great boat to me and has never left me stranded on the water. I am willing to do a sea trial for potential serious buyers and can deliver the boat within a few hours of CT. Boat is being sold as-is, so please ask as many questions as you would like before the end of auction. Feel free to contact me about seeing the boat in person, in fact, I prefer if you do so. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!
