For sale is a1961 Boston Whaler Nauset 16'7" Restored Classic with 1975 Evinrude 70 hp and a 1979 Rolls Axle aluminum trailer. This was the introductory year for Boston Whalers 17' center consoles. There were 999 built in the first 2 years and this is one is number #295. it has been garage kept since 1983 when it was last registered (see photo of sticker). I just finished the restoration and was able to retain many of the original components and quality construction Boston Whaler is known for. This entire package boat, motor and trailer were deserving of maintaining as much of it's originality as it is a true survivor. The boats hull still sports it's original glossy exterior gelcoat. Interior has been restored back to it's blue color as someone in the late 70's painted it to white. Original components include the rich Mahogany Bench Seat and Center Console (refinished), stainless rails and lights, rub rail, kicker motor bracket, MT2 binnacle/throttle, stainless wheel, period correct compass, and reconditioned red 6 gal. OMC portable fuel tank. The brass steering mount comes with the sale.New components are Mahogany windshield, Mahogany front hatch cover, 2 position S/S pull switches (2), tachometer, volt meter, 12v plug, key & kill switch, battery and cables, ignition harness, Teleflex steering system and fuel line. They have all been run through rigging tube for protection and clean appearance. All lights function properly and gauges and compass are lit as well.1975 Evinrude 70 hp is in absolutely incredible condition appears to have never been used in saltwater. All the original stickers are still on the motor even the "motor test run by 5916"on the port side of engine block (see photo). The cover has all original foam installation inside along with pull cord in a pouch (photo). Decals on cowling cover and lower unit are original. Aluminum prop shows almost no wear to original painted surface (see photo). Compression on all 3 cylinders is 140+psi, there is new plugs, solenoid and impeller. In photos don't mistake some of the original grease on some parts as rust, there is none. It runs strong and smooth. Remember in 1983 No Ethanol in fuel. Trailer is a 1979 Rolls Axle Aluminum trailer with new tires and rims, the trailer is complete with 2" hitch, buddy bearings, guide-on poles, lights, winch and front crank up jack. These are quality built trailers with lifetime aluminum spring patent. This boat was a lot of fun to store especially because I was able to retain so much of it's originality. There is some very minor blemishes but they are more like character marks, it is after all a 1961... Bid with confidence you will not be disappointed...I will not be doing sea trails as I do not wish to run it in the saltwater. i have a clear title and new registration but will not be applying the reg sticker. It is stored inside currently and will be till delivery. Thanks for looking.

Questions
Hello,
Is your Boston Whaler Nauset still for sale? If so, I have a few questions about the boat. Why has it not been registered since 1983? Will you start the engine to verify it is in working condition and allow compression tests of the cylinders? Is the boat and trailer registered in your name only? Do you have any other parts of the original boat, such as the original red Richie compass, original steering wheel, original bow light etc.? When was the center consul and seat replaced and who built it, Specialty Marine? Does the boat come with anything else like an anchor, life jackets, fuel tanks etc.?
So, this is a painted boat? Is there nothing worse than a painted Boston Whaler 16 footer? Where are the original transom eyelets? Do you know the area where you installed the non-original eyelets is not as structurally secure as original location? Did you replace the brass drain tubes? Or just paint over them? So many question..... I am just getting started. Respond promptly.
