1976 Bertram 35 Convertible, Fresh Water 2 Owner Boat, Incredible ConditionI purchased this boat in the spring after a successful surgery, but now find I need more surgeries . Rather than putting it up in heated storage until I recover, I am offering it to a new owner in an effort to simplify my life. The boat is in the water and in perfect running order. I might consider swapping for something that is fun and requires little or no physical ability to enjoy. I am thinking collector car. This boat is essentially a two owner boat that spent its entire life in the Cleveland area. It is a battle wagon known for its impressive sea keeping, build quality, and plush ride. It has been maintained with an open checkbook and I either have in my possession, or have access to, every single receipt since day one. I also have all the manuals and technical sheets for every system and the boat itself. The boat has had more money spent on it recently than I am asking for it. The important points are as follows: Fresh water Cleveland boat since day one until my purchase and move to Lake St. Clair Professionally rebuilt motors and gears with new parts and all documentation. 270 hours and $25,000 New pulpit, hand rail, chain, anchor and windlass. $16,000. New Fusion 3 zone stereo/ amplifier with 8 speakers and upper/lower control. $5,000 Recently updated Cruisair 2 zone air and heat. New Plasteak salon sole Onan MCCK generator with 131 original hours New electrical panel and wiring. Beautiful first rate job. Newer water system and hot water heater Original cockpit replaced with composite (very nice) St. Croix Davits with transom reinforcement Swim platform Upper/lower Raymarine chart plotters. New Standard Horizon upper and lower VHF with ultra high gain antenna Boat will stay on plane at 13 knots and 2400 rpm, cruise at 18 knots and 2800 rpm, and WOT at 4100 rpm and 28 knots Last fill up was 186 gallons after 11.5 hours for 16.1 GPH. Most of this was at 2800 cruise, even if you factor in a fair amount of idle time the fuel consumption is excellent Original Bertram glass tank holds 296 gallons and was inspected with zero issues. Both upper and lower gages work well. Only non-ethanol fuel has been burned for at least the last 15 yearsThe Bertram 35 is considered to have one of, if not the best, big sea capabilities of any boat its size. This boat eats up Lake St. Clair and Erie chop with little effort. The quality of this boat above deck, and most importantly below deck, is evident from the moment you look her over. I spent six months looking for this boat and traveled to every corner of the Great Lakes looking at dozens of boats that were not half her equal. The boat is in the water and ready for a new owner. $46,500May 30, 2018 SAMS Survey was "BRISTOL" rated.
