You are (hopefully) bidding on a 1984 Bayliner powerboat. The boat is a 28' aft cabin cruiser, powered by a single small block Chevy V-8 and a Volvo-Penta outdrive. Below decks there is a large V-berth forward, a settee and table in the main cabin; a small galley with sink, stove-top, and small refrigerator; a head with shower and sink; and finally a small aft cabin. Topside you will find the helm, wrap-around seating, a small well deck, and a swim step. The hull and interior are in good condition; however, this boat needs some work: gear shift and steering are stuck (possible problem in the outdrive) as well as corroded (and missing) handrails are the big issues. The canvas covers over the aft deck are mossy and very dirty, and are very worn. They should be replaced (or removed). The engine runs, but will need the raw water pump rebuilt. Also there is rust on one of the exhaust manifolds, so be ready to replace that. So please understand that while this boat is in fair shape, it is not something that a new owner can just jump into and take to Catalina. But if you're willing to invest some time and money, you'll have a very nice little cruiser. There is no trailer for this boat, so the winning bidder will have to make arrangements for a slip, or bring your own trailer (be sure it's a big one!) It is possible that the current slip can be transferred to the new owner, however it will be the new owner's responsibility to make those arrangements. This boat was donated to the Islander Sea Scout Foundation, and all proceeds will go to supporting Sea Scout Ship 16 in Marina del Rey. Please ask all questions, make inquiries about shipping, ask the wife's permission, and arrange for financing BEFORE bidding. If you have no feedback or negative feedback, you will need to email us before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Boat is sold with a California DMV Lost Title/Transfer form and bill of sale. Boat is currently registered. Boat is sold as-is, where-is in Marina del Rey California. Buyer is responsible for shipping. No warranty is expressed or implied. Good luck!
