Sold my larger 25 ft boat this past summer and downsized to this 21 foot boat. Thought it would be the perfect boat to make everyone happy! Unfortunately the wife wants a pontoon boat. So my loss is your gain. I spent the summer customizing the boat with the following: New blower, bilge pump and secondary back up bilge pump, battery switch (off/1/2/1-2), and GPS fish/depth finder with maps. I added an electric fuel pump which greatly helps improve starting as well as a water/fuel separator filter. I put water filters on both engines to help prevent anything getting into the engines. I added stainless steel shut off valves to each water line so you can run one engine or the other if mechanically there are issues (without this valve if you just run one motor water will enter and damage the other motor, great in an emergency!). A new second battery was added. New bimini top that is a true 4 pole 8 foot bimini, not the cheaper 3 pole and smaller size. New boat cover with vented poles. Compression tested this boat when I first got it and all cylinders registered 110-120. Everything else (gauges, controls) work fine. Took the boat for a test drive and the water pump line blew off the Starboard motor and it limped home. Worried that it might have damaged the motor so I retested the compression. It still showed ok but pulled off the head and saw the cylinders were scored up pretty good. Went ahead and put a new top end on the starboard motor. Used the existing head gasket as it looked good but when went to start it, it leaked. Ordered new gasket but haven't been able to put it on yet as winter caught up to me. With a new head gasket this boat mechanically should be sound. Both engines fire right up even with one having a bad head gasket. I added new top of the line Cobra Jet Steering to both motors which allows the boat to steer just like a regular boat. You can also adjust the steering to allow it to perform similar to a jet ski it you like. Gives you best of both worlds. Cosmetically this boat has some dings and scratches. My next job was to correct these. Their is one corner in the rear that needs gel coat repair. The other scratches should buff out. Some decals have scratches and would need replacing if one desired (see pics). The boat still catches peoples eyes and I constantly get the "nice looking boat" remarks when I'm out. The interior is decent and shouldn't need any work for several years yet (one small wear area, see picture). Motors are twin 135 hp for a total 270 hp. This boat jumps out of the water and has great ski capabilities! Reviews for this boat say its a great all around boat. It has great storage capacity and will make somebody very happy. NADA has this boat around 10-11,000 (see picture). I personally will be taking a loss to sell the boat at this price but I recently bought a deckboat to make the wife happy so its time to get rid of the Yamaha. Thought I would try to sell it at a lesser price now without finishing the work. Otherwise I will wait until spring and finish the work but of course will be selling for a higher price. Take advantage of what will be a great boat at a great price!
