1999 Yamaha Exciter 270 - Twin GP1200 motors with 135hp ea.This is probably one of the nicest Exciters or 1999 Jet boats you could find for sale if you had a year to look. I sincerely mean that, and you will not be disappointed.Sorry so long winded but you may learn something :)I had 2 new jet boats in the 90's and know quite a bit about 2 stroke motors. I have had about 20 Jet ski/waverunners since 1987.. They do not make boats like this anymore so this is a chance to get a very nice example of what they had before the EPA pushed out these motors and made them switch to the cleaner burning Mercury singles and now 4 stroke motors. The newer boats are a great deal more expensive and heavier than the older ones and that is why I had to have one again.I sold my larger boat 4 years ago and decided to buy 3 GP 1200 wave runners and this Jet boat. When searching for the boat I think I looked at 5 or 6 before I found this one. The guy was very thorough like me as far as maintenance and trying to preserve his toys and make them better. The wave runner idea was short lived (my dad is 81 and evidently he is done with PWC) and my wife does not like the chaos so I have one left to go out on but I have not used it yet this year.I am selling because we are focusing on my other hobby off of the water and really hate to see it sit.Compared to the others for sale that have slightly faded seats, some may not have the proper things done to make them run reliably for a long time to come and as clean, this one is worth 9500 all day in the spring. I get that and I know the season is coming to an end, and I have it priced accordingly. I can store it for 200 all winter and sell it for $2000 more but I want closure and to move on with my next endeavor. Look around and $7500 is more than fair for an end of the year deal.My cousin has bought 3 boats in the last 2 years trying to end up with "the one" and has yet to find one that will clean up to this one and its standard of nice...Group K is a big name in PWC and Jet Boat Performance and finding out what was engineered short on the manufacture end and i have been following harry klem's thought for years. He found that the gas tank was a rectangle unlike the sea doo that has a v shape making the sea doo deep in the middle. On the exciter in a scenario where you make hard long turn, with less than a half of a tank of gas, the fuel would go to one side of the boat and the gas lines would pick up air. this is not good at all for two stroke motors and causes them to run lean for a few seconds. The Fuel air separator was added in the first year the original owner had the boat. The Oil lines are also a common problem with these boats as they get older and what happens is they get hard and shrink. If one falls off it could quickly cause one of the cylinders to run without oil. I have seen it several times on triple cylinder snowmobiles and you do not notice until it is too late. The oil lines are new as of three years ago and this one has never run dry of oil due to a fall off or any other reason. If you do not want to buy a nice boat like this and buy a rougher fixer upper one for less money, please do yourself a favor and change them immediately. it is one of the most common reason for a spent motor. Some people premix however this is not a great idea on a boat because while you are at idle, the mix is too strong for idle speeds and you will smoke out any marina you are in. 32/1 or 50/1 is good for wide open throttle but at idle a proper working yamalube oil injection system runs less oil at low speeds and that and it is okay, that is the way it was designed. The rear clean outs on yamaha boats have been known to abruply fly off while under pressure and when they do, they could hit you and also fly up in the air and sink. without the clean outs the boat has not jet pressure and then what..some people have said to attach small floats to them in case this happens but the guy I bought this from has created the best idea and Ihave shared it with a few people on forums. This idea makes sure they can never fly off and the whole apparatus comes off easily so you can remove the clean outs and get weeds out of the pumps..I have not had to use this much because I a super careful where I run the boat.In theory jet craft can run in very shallow water.. Once you suck up a rock or stones you will realize the machine runs half of its potential and that will be the end of it..The impellers are very nice with no dings. The seats are in great shape, the Carpet kit was not standard and i found it brand new in the box 2 years ago and has made the boat very comfortable. The original owner did not get the Factory cover as he stored it indoors however he did get a non factory cover for it and pieced together the poles and straps although I rarely use the cover. when i take it to my cousins shop I cover it with a plastic tarp and the air is free to flow.Every time I take the boat out, we bring it back to the house and remove the carpet, open all of the hatches and let it air dry with the boat tilted up for a few days, then I assemble it and store it.There are a couple blemishes here and there, nothing that big a small scratch on a sticker a bubble under grip tape, that type of thing. Very close to Mint, but if judged in a contest (just kidding) it would get knocked a couple points..Please fell free to call with any questions or to set up a time to take a look.Jeff at phone

Questions
Is it still for sale - and if so where are you and your bottom price. I have one, mechanic disappeared with it for two years and just found it today. Not sure where it stands mechanically, but I loved it - and looking for another. May rob parts off mine as time goes by. Clean out cover blew off mine. What its your secret to keep it?
Thanks Larry
