This is really happening, your lucky day. I almost didnt believe it when I heard about this boat, and almost scoffed off the person who told me about this, but I didnt and when I seen this vessel, I was amazed.
Get in your time machine:
Heres what we have here. A 1989 Wellcraft Scarab 31 Brand New at 62 HOURS. It goes in a warehouse, and sits there for the last 13 years. The owner, an older man has shamefully never used the boat and has given me the job of finding her a new home.
This boat is in show condition. Pictures arent even doing this justice. Literally, you would need a time machine- it is the only way youll find one nicer. 62 total hours on the boat and engines, interior the seats are still strong and firm like new not all squashed and faded. The piping (welting) on all the seats are perfect, the stitching, perfect, there is nearly no wear at all on the upholstery. There is a very small tear the length of a dime, and its just a small tear.
The engine room is clean, motors have been checked out by my boat mechanic. We have had an amazing sea trial with her. The boat launch was packed with onlookers who couldnt believe it wasnt a brand new boat. We dont know how to answer the question, because it IS brand new, but its an 89. So everyone enjoys the story and definitely appreciated the condition.
Cabin is well appointed for an offshore race boat, but Wellcraft is the best at boat building. Ive personally had a Wellcraft for 12 years (but I use mine, lol) The carpet is in fabulous shape, the piles are still stiff and strong, color pigment has no fading. The front area did have a porta pottie cleaner spilled. We hot water extracted all the carpets and shampooed them. The rugs show well, the camera shows the front area being stained, but it really isnt visible to the naked eye, but I am OCD, so I see everything. The cabinets dont have a single scratch on them, there is the original Wellcraft supplied am/fm/cass with helm control remote (haha) and two cabin fans. The seats are all shampooed and clean. They are in outstanding shape, all the foam is firm and not one interior piece of the cabin has any issues at all. All seats are clean, no rips. The headliner is perfect as well.
The cockpit area feature two drop down bolster seats with stainless steel works in brand new condition. The seats are flawless. The piping, stitching and material are all strong, clean and in new condition. The dash is amazing. No fading, no cracking, gauges are all clear. The rear bench seats all lift up. Two expose storage and one exposes the water storage tank. All hinges are perfect. The gunnels storage compartments on each side of the cockpit have smoked plastic doors that are flawless, no cracking or fading, the rugs are like brand new, and have never been used. The floor still has the original Wellcraft marine caulking and its perfect, the floor has three or four tiny ant sized chips by where the passenger foot would go at the seat. They are very small chips, but again, Im OCD.
This boat is literally all bone stock, unmolested, and as clean as you will ever find. Pictures and descriptions do it no justice. You can not find a nicer Scarab. Please feel free to email me with questions, and offers.
