The boat is in excellent condition for its age! This is probably one of the best condition Scarab Sprints still in existence. The boat is currently winterized. The speedometer is currently disconnected because either the gauge or the plastic hose that connects it was periodically dripping water. The hydrofoil on the lower unit has a chip in the right corner. Upon a cold start, there is a slight squeal coming from the pulley area. This squeal dissipates after about 1 minute. The new owner should continue with the general maintenance of this boat with an engine oil change, lower unit oil change, and new impeller at the onset of next season.

I have a one-of-a-kind 1996 18 Wellcraft Scarab Sprint for sale that is located in Belvidere, IL (about 1.5 hours west of Chicago).

This is the more desirable version of the Scarab Sprint with an outdrive. It is more desirable for 3 reasons:

1) This boat has a Mercruiser AlphaOne outdrive, which is still supported by Mercruiser. The jet drive version of the Scarab Sprint is extremely difficult to find replacement jet drive parts.

2) This boat has a hydrofoil on the lower unit, which allows this closed bow boat to get out of the hole easier. You cannot add a hyrdofoil to a jet drive.

3) This boat allows you to use any multitude of compatible props....which allow you different pitch options for speed and holeshot torque depending on how you wish to use the boat. The jet drive version does not offer this customizability.

The Scarab Sprint was a very limited production boat in the 90s. This boat was yellow and green from the factory. As you can see from the pics, I have modernized it. You will not find another one like this. This Sprint is probably one of the best condition Sprints still in existence. A few features:
