Don't let the age throw you.... This 1986 wellcraft is a great first boat.I've owned and used it on Jordan Lake for 9 yrs.I'm selling it because I bought a larger project boat - a 23' chaparral.I'd consider this wellcraft as a bit of a project. It has 250 hrs on it. I rebuilt the 4.3L v6 at 200hrs when I got it. I also replaced the lower half of the outdrive.It's been a good first boat.Issues:-Engine is lacking power. I changed fuel filter plugs and cap and set timing. It helped but I think the carburetor needs to be gone thru again (4 barrel quadrajet).-The Y pipe flange is cracked. Water leaks in (slowly) and has done so for years. Bilge pump takes care of it. I did replace the bellows a few years back. You can hear a clang on the y pipe with stethoscope when engine is running which leads me to believe the flange is cracked and it explains the water leaking in at a slow rate.Rear main engine seal has recently started leaking some oil. Not a lot but you can see a oil rainbow when you drain the bilge. I havent had to add any oil in a season.If I kept the boat I would pull the engine to fix y pipe and replace oil seal.The good: engine was rebuilt 50 hrs ago. Heads were rebuilt, New pistons...The hull in great shape. The hull construction was 2pc - upper and lower clam shell so the floor is solid with no wood to rot. This is the way all boats are made today but was not typical in 1986.Most of the upholstery has been replaces. The 3 cushions in the bow still need to be replace.I just replaced the outdrive water pump impeller this summer.I've used this boat for 9 yrs. It's a great first boat. I consider it a project though. For little money and some effort you could be on the water next spring. I just don't have the time to fix things and get my new project boat done as well.Look the pics over and if you want more info contact me and we can talk.Thanks for looking....
