Boat was bought new, 2 brothers, after 3 seasons, one brother took out, it started to backfire, he didn't let up, blew hole in head. A friend of mine got it, it sat in his yard for years. I said give it to me, I had a machinist fix the head. I started up, sounded GREAT. So I invested all kinds of money to upgrade it before I went out. Went out ran great until I hit 2000 rpms. Started to backfire. everyone said it was fuel. So had carb. rebuilt. Still backfired, so put electric fuel pump. Still backfired. I told everyone it's the distributor, it's weights, their rusted. That is where the problem is. New tires and other upgrades on trailor. Wife said she like canoe better. So I'm just getting it out of here.
