"Little Toot" began her life on the waters of Lake Michigan as a buoy tender in the 1930s. She was an open steel boat that served a mother ship. After her retirement from that service, she lay rusting on the shores of Lake Michigan until an industrial arts teacher in St. Joseph found her, restored her, and added the red superstructure that gave her that tug boat look. It has since been on Lake Lanier for the last nine years. So the boat has never seen saltwater in its life. It is 30 feet long and powered by a 135 hp Perkins diesel that was installed during the restoration and is a 1985 model. The diesel motor only uses 1.5 gallons per hour. The boat has not had much use since restoration and as a result has low hours. The boat is 100% for the water, and could be used as a pleasure boat or a work boat.
