Selling this 1982 Tiara Continental 2700 that received fiberglass and mechanical damage as a result of super storm Sandy.The vessel was blocked on shore before the storm and the drain plug was installed so the boatDID NOT SINKor receive any significantwater intrusion as a result of the storm. The vessel actually refloated and drifted four houses away and the struck a house and rode the storm out rubbing the home and porch causing the hull damage. At some time the port lower unit was knocked off but the housing remained sealed and afloat. Following the storm the vessel was crane lifted into the water and we drove herto the rampto be hauled. The vessel will need fiberglass work to above waterline areas and the lower unit replaced with another unit purchased for the boat.This vessel is HUGE for a 27 foot boat and offers a lot of room with the wide beam. We are selling this vessel in "As Is" condition. ManySandy vessels that are beat up and have been submerged are going for way more than this boat so get a big savings.
HULL:The hull is in good condition scrapes and abrasions on the hull sides. The starboard damage can go up to 3 layers deep but none are completely through the hull. Some of the port windows were damaged my impact and one is dislodged from the hull but all are on board the vessel for repair. The bottom is in great condition with no signs of any damage and as I said earlier she floats and takes on no water. The stainless steel rub rail has damage that can easily be replaced in the affected sections.
* Trailer NOT Included *
TOPSIDE:The topsides are in very good condition. Most of the topsideareas are faded and dirty from storage but have no fiberglass damage. The stainless steel bow rail has a few places where it is bent but can easily be repaired.
* Trailer NOT Included *
CABIN:The cabin spaces suffered no damage with the exception of some rain intrusion from the storm. The cabin door was removed prior to the storm which allowed some rainwater to enter the cabin space under the mooring cover. There is a galley with refrigerator, electric / alcohol stove and deep stainless sink. Thesleeping areasinclude a forward V berth as well as a spaciousaft cabin area. There is an enclosed head with shower. The cabin could use the carpet replaced but all else looks in good usable condition.
* Trailer NOT Included *
ENGINE & COMPONENTS:The motors are 5.7 or 350 ci GM based Volvo Penta inboard outboards with fresh water cooling that run very good. As I said we ran the boat to the ramp with the starboard power source with no issues. After hauledboth engines were run and winterizedand they both sound great. with the fresh water cooling systems these engines should have many more years of service. The starboard drive unit was in place but the port drive was knocked off and never recovered ( or recovered by someone other than who was supposed to have it). There is a replacement drive and transom assembly, purchased off of classifieds board a few months ago,included in the sale. The replacement drive was shipped to us in 3 pieces for shipping reasons (??) but was said to be in working order and does look clean and ready to be reassembled and installed. As I stated earlier this boat did not suffer a submersion or wasin any way associated with Super Storm Sandy.
* Trailer NOT Included *
OTHER ITEMS:Also included are the electronics pictured on board. I have no knowledge of the condition of the items but they are in place and wired for service. There is also many pieces of canvas that appear to be a full bimini or convertible top with aft and side curtains. Currently the boat is stored with a custom mooring cover and all the canvas appears in average condition.
This is an excellentchance to get aBIG boat that needs some work. If you are mechanically inclined and want to take on thisrelatively easyproject you will have a great boat in the end.
