1988 Thundercraft Capri 152 15 Ft Runabout
NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!
This boat was listed on classifieds board and sold but the buyer cancelled due to his house flooding in the Houston area. I am relisting as a result.
1993 Johnson 115HP motor w/< 150 hrs- Excellent condition. I purchased the boat in 2007 and the engine had less than 60 hours.Since then there have beenmany upgrades. In case you were wondering, I took of the "Thundercraft" name off the boat and replaced it with "Carver" name (the Carver Yacht I've always wanted )on both sides and added the "Lowe" seats (looked best with the boat to me along with the added striping etc).
For those of you who would like to avoid paying storage for boat, look no further. It's hard to find a boat nowadays that you can store in a standard garage (why pay expensive storage to own a boat?). There are very few 15 foot boats like this one.
Includes Trailer: Recently stripped/primed/painted and black carpeted on step sides. Trailer also has new tires (replaced last year)and spare tireis brand new as well. The boat is rated for 5 persons or 640 pounds.
Work done to boat recently:
- New steering wheel,
- New boat striping,
- New AM/FM CD MP3 stereo
- New bucket style seats (removed old seats)
- Recovered padding
- New permanent 16 gallon gas tank installed this year.(previously used 2-6 gallon portable tanks) and new automatic bilge pump at same time.
Runs great- selling because we want to get a new boat. The Johnson 115HP 2-Stroke Engine is estimated to be worth $1800 -2000 alone.
This is an excellent boat and would make a great project boat as well. We recently found termites in the plywood and they have been eradicated. The 1/2 inch plywood is still in great shape for a 1988 boat but it would be advised to replace the wood (estimate about $1000 to replace). Would make a great project boat if someone had the time to replace the plywood. Fiberglass is in excellent condition. Other than the recent termite issue, this boat is ready to go and starts up with no issues. With a Johnson 115HP engine and only 15 feet, this boat is fast as well. There is no oil injection (I got rid of it a while back to protect the engine). You simply add oil to the newly installed 16 gallon gas tank (1 pint for every 6 gallons).
The boat is being sold AS-ISdue to the termite issues. The boat was sprayed heavily to kill the termites but I cannot guarantee that they will not return which is why I recommended replacing the flooring and applying new carpet. Another option, for peace of mind, is to get the boat fumigated (the plywood is still in very good shape). The trailer alone is in great shape as is the motor and fiberglass etc. We think the termites came from a box from Lowes(light fixture) that was placed in the boat. About a week later, they showed up. I put a lot of extras in the boat. The boat has been garage kept since we have owned it (a big reason on why we bought the boat). There is also an extra 2 seats that are not included in thepictures. One goes into a stainless support and the other was bolted on which I took off. They both look like the passenger style seat (red and gray).
I have a file with all work done onit.... receipts, title for the boat/motor etc
Happy Bidding
