Watching the show Flipper as a kid I've always wanted this boat. I found it several years ago right here in Southern Oregon.This is a 1966 Thunderbird Iroquois, and likely if you are looking at this you already know as much or more than I do about them.This boat was repowered with a freshwater cooled Mercruiser 470 in 1989. It has 143 hours on the meter since that time. The first year of ownership I started to sort through the 50 years of terrible wiring, I replaced the starter and ran out of summer to get it to the lake. Last year I had big plans... but they never happened. At the end of last summer I changed the fluids, serviced the outdrive and put in a new impeller and took it to the lake for the first time. This year I wanted to redo the upholstery and get it in the water more.I just don't see this happening anytime soon, so it's time to pass it on to another Flipper enthusiast.It comes with a very nice EZ-Loader galvanized trailer that was also new in 1989.The boat runs out great, has about 25 gallons of gas in the tanks, it will need new trailer tires to haul it any distance.If you want to come look at it and hear it run or take it out to the lake, we can do that too.This boat has never had bottom paint or left in the water, the gelcoat is in nice shape and could be shiny again. I was told it was formerly a patrol boat here in Oregon.These boats don't come around often.... I know.. I looked and looked, and will probably regret getting rid of it.Gary 541-892-240 Eight

It is usable right now, The only thing that I would do is have the back to back seats reupholstered, the vinyl is dry and rough to the touch. If you are using it for fishing they are probably fine the way they are. I'm ready to sell this boat. Call me *** Gary

Good morning Gary. I have a classic 1970 bayliner 17ft run about in original mint condition kept inside when not in use. Has a 85 hp merc. My 13 year old son and I love embarrassing these young kids with their new speed boats and their attitudes passing them by with a laugh. I an looking forward to heading up to Cannada for beach camping for a couple of weeks this year but would enjoy traiding up in size even if it means giving up the shock factor in speed with others. My dad and I restored one of the original 23' Thunderbird Iroquois that was used in the Flipper program . We purchased our Thunderbird from the Vice president of National Airlines who purchased the boat from Ivan Torres the producer's of the Flipper program . Our boar had twin Mercruiser 120 hp Marine engines with Mercruiser #1 outdrives . My dad and I restored our boat to like new condition . We used our boat for four or five years until we traded up for a Wellcraft Nova . I grew up and lived in Miami Florida for 39 years . I am presently a marine seevice technician and a dealer for Mercruiser products . I know a lot about Thunderbird / Formula marine products , if you ever need any information on your boat or Mercruiser products let me know . Good luck with your boat , there aren't many of these boats left .

This is directed to Terry Hosmer. I have a 1965 ? 22 1/2 ft., Thunderbird Arapaho with an in line six 150 horse Merc-cruiser. dual fuel tanks and cuddy cabin I've owned for 25 years, the motor has low miles but the out drive casing took a hit on some rocks and cracked lost oil and spun the bearings, it's a rare 13 spline, it only has 2 side portal type side windows, but to large slides on the from of the cabin...I'm trying to find parts for the outdrive, it has a power tilt, and was a very nice cruiser..Thanks
