This Thompson will need some engine work before being seaworthy. The previous owner stated that it ran well when last put away but we have not run the engine. There is no battery in the boat sowe hooked up a jump box and the stern-drive trims up and down well but the starter motor just clicks. We were able to turn the engine over by hand with a wrench with no problem. The oil in the engine is gold and clean. We have not checked the engine out in any other way. We shifted the sterndrive and it goes into reverse and neutral but we could not get it to grab in forward well. Electrically some of the accessories work. The horn, bow lightand bilge pump work but thetrim tabsand blower do not. There is a stereo in the cabin which powers up but needs a new antennae as it gets no reception.
Cosmeticallythe boat looks good with only age appropriate scratches and small dings if any. The gel coat is lightly faded and would shine up well with a compound and wax. Thedecks are all solid and the carpet is in good condition. The seats have some cracked areasbut are still very useable (seepictures). The back to back seathas some rot as shown inpictures. The cabin is clean and has an area for a porta-potty. It is large enough for a couple to sleep in if needed.
The trailerfits the boat well and is roadworthyshape. The frame and axle are in solid shape. The springs have rust but seam to be solid enough. The tires hold air well and the bearings are fine. It is outfitted with newer LED lights but we did not test them. We towed this boat to our shop over 60 miles with no problems. The pictures are current and the boat is being sold as is in the condition shown. You are welcome to come to our shop and inspect the boat anytime prior to auctions end.
