Relisting: Bottom line is buyer backed out. He was looking for a NEW boat. This is a 33 year old boat and I don't think you will find one in finer shape Buyer had no knowledge of boats of this vintage. An extremely common issue is dimpling in the fiberglass. Occasionally one of these may get soft, like a pimple to coin an expression. The pimple gets popped, a little sanding, and a coat of gel-coat fixes her up like new. I thought this was common knowledge, but please do your research before bidding. The motor was checked again before delivering to buyer (I like to sleep well at night) and the compression was 140, 137, 140. I also topped off the tank after the sale with $40. of fresh marine grade fuel (another $60.). The buyer spent 90 minutes going over the boat and couldn't find anything wrong. He talked about putting bigger tires on the trailer, adding power trim, recoating the hull, re-upholstering the seats, etc. It's a very nice little run about for a good price. It's worth the asking price, but it is what it is, a 33 year old boat. Sorry for this lengthy preamble, but I don't want to go through another failed sail.1982 Fiberglass Deep V 160 StarCraft Boat(white with red stripes) with rebuilt1984 60 HP Mercury3 cylinder, 2 cycle outboard (less than 20 hours). Boat is in beautiful shape for age. 15'6" closed bow Deep V. Had her out in Saginaw Bay on Lake Hurontrolling with no problem. Stable on big lake on calm days due to Deep V and closed bow to avoid taking on waves. It has just been wheeled out and polished. Lettering is back in beautiful condition. The interior is burgundy, as is top, with new upholstery on rear seat backs and side arm rests1) Motor was rebuilt a year ago at a cost of $1800. by professional marina. Requires pre-mix 50:1 (premium non-synthetic oil recommended by Mercury).14) All hull scrapes (none serious) were just patched and coated with gel-coat. Not a perfect color match with white on older boat, but gives a great 10 foot look. Below waterline, so can't see them when boat is in the water anyway. The StarCraft logos had a few scratches. These were touched up with a red automotive paint pen. Again a perfect 10 foot look, turned out real nice for color match.15) I just had a 4 foot tongue extension built to facilitate easier launching for shallow ramps, low lake levels (not suitable for towing, but great for launching), Just need to swap out at launch site.16) New tachometer just arrived, will install prior to sale.Boat is in water and ready for evaluation.I bought for$2000. and have since sunk in nearly$3000. since buying(my loss is your gain).
