Nice classic 1959 Starcraft aluminum and wood runabout 15' boat. It has a 1959 Evinrude
33HP 2 cycle 2 cylinder outboard motor. The boat was restored in the
late 90's and not used much and I have recently improved it in any areas
it needed. Might not be museum quality but really nice overall. The
hull is heavy aluminum (original) which is very durable. It's made to
run up on a sand or gravel bar. The motor and drive was checked last
fall at a local boat repair shop. Compression is even in both cylinders.
Runs good for an old Evinrude. It's not a speed boat, but will go 25
mph or so. Original speedometer not working, just needs a pickup. It's an
easy job but I never got to it.
The windshield is not original, it is acrylic, manufactured by Polyfab of Springfield, Mo. The horn showing in the pictures works but the compressor is not powerful enough to blow it. I have another smaller horn that does work underneath which is loud enough. The carburetor was just rebuilt one month ago. The boat has been run on Table Rock lake just twice this past August. Always starts right up, idles good, runs good. Not as smooth
and quiet as the newer outboards, but was I told by the mechanic that this how these older motors run. The boat can turn on a dime, and handles well. I've not had more than 2 people on the boat but It handles the small wakes nicely. I haven't taken it in rough water. I added a few modern conveniences like a Pioneer am/fm/cd player
and some led lights; cool looking at night. The trailer is a 1997
Shorelander with good tires and a fold-away tongue. Does not take up
much room in the garage. The boat is small enough to pull with a truck
or car. It is about 14' 8" long, a little extra with the engine. This
boat gets lots of attention! Starcraft has been making boats and travel trailers for well over
100 years. I am a car dealer not a boat dealer.
This is my personal boat, just something I've been playing
with for a couple of years. The listed price is much less than the time and expense of myself and the previous owner in restoring it. If you are
looking for a vintage, 1 of a kind boat, this is a good one, and lot
cheaper than you could restore yourself. If you are close enough to come and see the boat before you bid send me a message and we will arrange a showing.TITLE: I have 3 Missouri titles all free and clear (boat, motor, and trailer)PAYMENT: $500 deposit to be paid within 24 hours of the end of the
listing. I am listing this boat one time now and if it doesn't sell will list again in the Spring, and the price may be higher. Thanks for your consideration.
