1972 Skipjack 24 Twin Engine Flybridge

This boat is equipped with twin Volvo Penta 170 engines and Volvo Penta 280 outdrives. In addition, it includes a v berth, sink, fresh water tank, niche for a stove, head, dining table, bait tank, windlass, head, and more.

The hull gel coat is in great condition for its age. The dash gauges are missing and will need to be replaced. The stainless hardware is in good condition but could use a polish. From the looks of the patch on the deck, it appears the original gas tank may have been replaced.

Included with the boat is a tandem axle trailer with working lights, a CA permanent trailer license plate, and a 2" ball. I do not know the hours or condition of the engines or outdrives and I have not attempted to start the engines. In addition, the flybridge and cockpit wood and vinyl panels were previously removed and will need to be repaired or replaced and reinstalled. Titles for both the boat and trailer are clear and in hand for easy transfer. Registration for the boat is paid until 2019 and the permanent trailer registration is up to date.

From my brief research, it appears this twin engine model is relatively rare, great for maneuvering, and even better that you have two engines, instead of just one, in the event one falters while at sea. In addition, I have not seen another with original blue gel coat.

This is not a "turn-key" boat and the starting price reflects that. However, with some tlc, this project boat could be a perfect weekender for the island, harbor or lake or a great fishing platform. Anyone familiar with Skipjacks knows this boat is a lot of boat for its size and is especially popular due to its trailerability.
