Description: 1986 29 Silverton 290 sport
cruiser powered with twin freshwater cooled Crusader 4.3L
direct drive inboards located in Barrington RI. The pocket drives give a
amazing shallow draft. The near 11 foot beam delivers a nice stable boat
despite her light displacement. The low
profile flying bridge with full canvas enclosure(missing one window but have material to make it), center helm and seat
combined with a large L shaped companion seating configuration provides
the open air comfort for entertaining a small crowd while making an
excellent platform for navigating the boat. Three steps down and you are
on the large open cockpit perfect for fishing, or lounging. A second three steps down puts you at the interior level with
a very comfortable aft state room with a queen size bunk, built in
cupboards and night stand to port. There is access to the front end of
the engines through the aft bulkhead. There is a large port
opening to the cockpit. Down the passage way is the modern head with a electronic
marine head, sink and shower. Along the starboard side is a galley, with a long counter workspace, built in AC/Alcohol cook top, AC/DC
refrigerator. To port is a dinette seating area that pulls down into a double bunk.
Forward is a second berthing area with a raised berth. The
unusual combination of an aft stateroom, large open cockpit, and three
steps up to the command bridge make this a very comfortable boat with
excellent living space on deck. Wide side decks give easy access to the
foredeck. There are 1600 hours on the Starboard Engine and 875 Hours on the rebuilt Port Engine. Engines are mounted
under the cockpit with easy access through large deck hatches. This
Silverton 29 Sport Cruiser is a nice, comfortable, family cruiser with an
emphasis on the on deck living area and comfortable private living and
sleeping areas below decks, perfect for a couple of adults or family
with children. Clear Title included.NOTE:The two engines run well. The Starboard transmission cooler needs to be replaced (approx. $150). The transmission cooler went bad and let sea water into the transmission. So, the starboard transmission must be rebuilt or replaced. The transmission unbolts from the engine and is not hard to replace. Total cost of transmission and cooler is approx $1200 plus labor (unless you do it yourself).VESSEL IS SOLD AS-IS, WHERE-ISIMPORTANT
