Hi thanks for checking out my Auction for this beautiful 1958 Dunphy Speed Boat or Runabout.

I bought this boat from a guy who restored it around 10-15 years. Most of the time it was garage kept but the last 4-5 years it has been spread at a boat yard under tarps as I have not been able to get to it.

I am not a boater myself, though my Father was. This is a turn of life event and Im liking the idea of this boat getting the attention it deserves and then getting back under way. I never took the boat out nor put it in the water. THe fellow who did the restoration only ever had it in fresh water as a show boat and it locally won an award or two.

THe Boat comes with the original trailer which has walking out boards, and has a cool additional trailer entender bar (about 12 feet) to get an extra long launch to keep you tow vehicle farther from the water. Trailer is Missing One Fender and lights are not working.

What I know. In transit the motor took slight nudge and the steering wheel popped off, as did several of the steering eyelets carry the cable back to the motor.

It does not seem like the fellow who restored it properly sealed the edges as there is some damage to the top surface particularly around the outer edges as shown. The Upholstery needs some help...perhaps long enough staples were not used.

The center bow tow bolt was moved upwards a couple inches and the keel needs some water proof caulking. As such the vertical trailer arm, which has the winch will need to be later cut and welded to make as better alignment. The top coat of the white part of the hull needs sanded and repainted. A stone strike made about a deep gouge against the hull and will need to be filled - see photo.

I think this would make for a fun first time restoration or a tinkering around with lake boat for the right person.

The model of the boat was somewhat uncertain to the guy who restored this boat. I dont know if it is an ACTUAL "Manta" Model or one of the other models, but that it is how the boat was painted, to match the original manual description and photos.
