SeaDoo Speedster Twin Engine

For sale is a used 1997 SeaDoo Speedster twin Rotax jet boat with trailer. It has a clean Title. We bought this boat several years ago when our kids were younger. We always liked the idea of a two engine boat for our kids... if one engine failed, they could make it to safety. This boat has been fun (and fast), however, now that the kids are grown up, we did notuse itlast year and this year.

What you need to know..

The twin two stroke Rotax motors run well.

New battery ~2016.

Last year we replaced the "shifter cable" for the right side. The push-pull cable had failed and sometimes you couldn't shift the flow diverter (clamshell) into the position for reverse. The new cable is now in place and works well on land. I left the shifter control mechanism unfastened in case it needs an adjustmentwhile in the water under load (see pic).

The boat is in overall good condition with the exception of the seats, as you can see there are some mold spots, cracks/rips on a couple of the seats. There are some hull bruises and fading due to age.

The cover is OK but needs a better prop rod to hold it up in the center.

The automatic bilge pump doesn't work. We had no need tofix it because we kept the boat up on a lift when not in use. We just drainedit before we took it out - it took on water very slowly. This would need tobe fixed if you kept it in the water. We don't know if it takes on water just by sitting in the water or when the engines are running.

When we bought it , the previous owner said that every once in a while one of the engines would not come up to full speed.He felt the cause could have beenfrom therev limiter function tied to the shifter. He said it was intended to stop you from over revving in reverse.We have experienced this on a few occasions, but because itis intermittent, we have not determined the cause.
