This custom built Sea Ray Sport Yacht is the only one in the world ordered with Rolls Royce Diesel engines.

It was custom built as a prototype Sea Ray 460 (50ft Express Yacht) with hull number 002 for year 1989 featuring two monster V8 Twin Turbo 17.4 Liter Rolls Royce CV-8 Diesel engines model M650-TI producing a governed 650HP each at 2100RPM, making this Sea Ray the most powerful and fastest one to leave the factory with a top speed of about 40 knots. There is immediate throttle response and absolutely no hesitation when going on plane with that much power...you do not even feel it! It will cruise at about 7 knots (10MPH) at idle speed without burning almost any fuel. It's a Rolls Royce!

Because this boat is so unique and so special, it's a true collectors yacht. It has only 750 hours from new, which are very low hours for any main Diesel engines and generator. Note that those large hand-built heavy-duty Rolls Royce Diesel engines will run 10,000 hours before overhaul if properly maintained with simple periodic oil and filter changes and taken good care of. The boat is equipped with an electric oil change pump for both main engines and generator.

You can easily spend $1.2 million Dollars for a new 50ft Sea Ray Yacht, or even more for an Italian built yacht, but they will not come even close to the prestige, power, speed and comfort of this One of a kind Rolls Royce Yacht and a production yacht will not hold the value of this Rolls Royce yacht for years to come. A Rolls Royce will be always a Rolls Royce and actually the price only goes up with time! Just look at the cars. You cannot even get those engines anymore even if you want to and could afford them as Rolls Royce Diesel Engine Division was sold to Perkins (parts still available through Perkins Dealers) which RR factory is now owned by Caterpillar Defense Systems in the UK. Those engines are still a favorite for the UK Military and the factory, now called Caterpillar Defense Systems, exclusively rebuild them for the British Ministry of Defense. They are not available to the public! Those hand built RR engines would probably cost no less than 250K a piece today, considering that any mass produced 17.4 Liter displacement Turbo Diesel engine of same HP costs about 100K each.
