This auction is fora1979 Sea Ray 300that is in verygood original and well maintained condition. It is powered by twin Mercruiser 350 hp (454) direct inboards with Borg/Warner Velvet drive transmissions. The previous owner recently replaced both engines and updated may engine parts. Cosmetically and mechanically this is a very nice boat that potentially only needsto be summer commissioned to be ready to use. It was winterized by the boatyard it is currently at and has been in storage for afew years. The service managermentioned to us that the boat is in great shape and the previous owner put a ton of money into restoring the engines around2009. The boat has not been used much since the repower and the engines have approximetelyless than 100 hours since being replaced. The work performed was said to have been replacing both blocks with remanufactured blocks, new manifolds, new carburetors, alternators and motor mounts. There was definitely other work done but it would be hard to list each item. By looking at the engines its obvious that they look newer and have many new parts that would only be replaced during a full re-power. There are manuals and paperwork in the boat that may have some info on work performed. We hooked upthe onboardbatteries and many accessories power up as well as most everything we tried. The VHF radio, hailer/PA, fish finder, water temp gauges, anchor windlass, (2) stereos, bilge blowers, bilge pumps, wipers motors, interior power vents, electric toilet pumpandcabin lightspower up. We did not test everything but noticed these items powered up and can't imagine that there is much that does not work. Im sure there are some items that don't work so this description is not a guarantee of every little thing in the boat working perfectly. The boat has some very nice stainless and canvas work. The radar arch and railings are very high quality and look great. The canvas features a full backdrop for storage (shown), backdrop with screen windows for over-nighting, full bimini with glass windowsshown with a second set of new never used screen windows. There are also custom helm, chart table and window hatch covers which all look great. The interior looks great for an older boat. The carpet has some light stains which will clean up to look much better but otherwise the cabin looks great. The helm seat back rest mount has pulled out of the base but should be an easy fix for a handy person. The boat having an 11-6" beam makes for a huge cabin and cockpit for a 30 foot boat. There is plenty of headroom in the cabin as well.
Cosmetically it has good original gel coat that would benefit from a buff/wax but otherwise is in excellent shape. There are very few scratches or dings anywhere. The decks are all rock solid on the entire boat. The teak could use a cleaning but looks very nice. The bottom and running gear look in great shape as well. There is no scale to the paint and it looks as if it has a multi season ablative style paint on the bottom.Overall this boat looks better than most boats a third of its age. The anchor, dock lines, shore power cable, hose and anything else on the boat shown is included in the auction. If you purchase the boatand would like it launched and commissioned it will be included at no charge. We are happy to have the marina launch the boat, charge the batteries and make sure the engines are summarized before taking delivery by water.
