1996 Sea Ray 230 Signature Overnighter on a 1994 Boat Master Trailer. I have clear title (Lien Free) for both boat and trailer. I bought this boat/trailer in New Hampshire where it was used on a fresh water lake only. The owner bought it in 2012, he was told it has always been a fresh water use boat. It originated in South Carolina, he bought it from the second owner in North Carolina. The boat was last used in the summer of 2015, the owner sold his home recently and moved where there is no space to keep the boat. I brought it to Rhode Island. The trailer tows very easily for its size. Lots of updates were performed by the last owner. New trailer wiring with heavy duty harness, 7 pin connector, LED trailer lights all around, boat guide poles that have top marker lighting. The trailer even has LED back up lights. All work, one cracked lens. He put an all new hydraulic 4 wheel disc brake system on all FOUR of the wheels which includes new disc brake rotor hubs, new calipers, hoses, brake lines, bearings and bearing buddies, controlled by a Titan heavy duty 2 5/16" surge tongue. The Boat Master trailer is aluminum, model 2224, rated to carry GVWR of 7000 pounds. Spare tire carrier with spare. Tires have plenty of tread but are older radials. Bunkers are in very good shape, their carpeting very good. It has the VIN plate attached, plus the VIN is stamped on the framing too. New Hampshire is a non title state for trailers this age as is Rhode Island, however it was sold with a Bill of Sale and a current registration. Rhode island accepts this to register as if out of a title issuing state. I have a current Rhode Island registration for the trailer which states year, make and serial number...check your state to see if a Notarized Bill of Sale, plus a copy of the trailer's current registration is sufficient to obtain registration in your state...some states will issue a title with this documentation. This is an incredible trailer. Length is 29' feet. As for the boat, it was purchased as a DNR...(does not run) the hour meter in the tachometer reads 334 hours (Seems rather low for a boat this age, but the thing works)...the owner replaced the gimbal bearing and found the gimbal ring was cracked so he replaced it too...serviced the raw water pump, changed the outdrive gear oil, replaced the exhaust and driveshaft boots. (The outdrive is in really great shape, little to no corrosion). In the following spring when he attempted to use the boat, it would not run...he thought he failed to winterize it properly and assumed the engine needed replacement...he did no further work on it. He decided to sell because he sold his home. It turns out the engine is working well, the starter was bad, needing replacement, which I installed new. The engine oil and filter were changed, motor cylinders were lubed with oil squirted into the cylinders thru the spark plug holes and turned over plenty of times with the plugs out before attempting starting, due to extended layup of several years. The engine was then started on a can of fresh gas and it burned several gallons at varying speeds, tests shifting forward and reverse. It is a Mercruiser GM 350 throttle body fuel injection, TBI, the plugs were remarkably clean, indicating the motor runs very clean compared to 350 carburetor models. The shifter works smooth, no binding or stiff cables and the idler interrupt switch is not binding (no stalling while shifting)....non cone clutch Alpha One shift dogs need this setup to shift. The gas tank was pumped out by the past owner and is empty...no old gas to worry about...the engine horsepower during this era was rated at the propshaft not the crankshaft...short lived ratings...the 350 TBI inboard is rated at 260 HP and the stendrive versions were rated at 250 HP...you may find other ratings in print out there...260 hp on a 350 four barrel, and the two barrel TBI fuel injection is just about the same, but runs much smoother, idles better is burns fuel much cleaner and more efficiently. The block and manifolds have been drained/winterized. cylinders oiled/fogged for layup, no grease zirks (grease fittings) were lubed and all should be hit with a grease gun prior to use...oil and filter are fresh. The alternator works, but its bearings are making a slight grinding noise, due to moisture in engine bay during storage over the years...looks original. Easy to replace if the noise is bothersome to some. It has dual batteries, 24 series, code dated 2012...should be replaced, good for core charges. The engine, engine bay and its bilge are very clean, super cleaned by me. The trim pump works well, it trims fast, but the owner did not adjust the outdrive limit switches after service, he lost the securing screws/washers too...they are in their respective slots, but not slot turn adjusted nor secured. Needs proper securing screws with special washers. Remote outdrive trim switch at transom swim platform area, great for out of boat trimming The Bennett Trim System works well and looks new. The dash gauges light up blue, but a couple gauge lamps are out. Everything works, interior lighting has been updated with bright LED's. Stern pole light present too. The stereo works, weather door lock clip needs glue...in bag with several items, tilt steering wheel. The V berth is very clean, cushions excellent. I super cleaned everything (except berth cushions) with strong bleach and Dawn scrubbing til my hands were raw from bleach...[still healing] then hot water hose rinsed and baked dry with electric heaters and fans under covers for couple weeks. The cockpit seating is good with some stains and wear...pictures look better than in person. The Gelcoat is in need of serious machine multi step compounding. If I were to keep the boat until spring, I'd wet sand with 600 to 1000 wet dry paper, then do compounding with heavy cut compound with a heavy cut wool pad, then to an ultra cut compound, multi-steps leading to a swirl mark remover done with a finishing blue wool pad and several coats of top quality wax machined into the gelcoat with finish foam pad to restore the white sun oxidized deck...the green sides would do well with heavy cut compounding then swirl mark remover to a machine wax buffing...needs some serious effort to get a real fanatic gloss back...one area near the gas fill has three, minor couple inch long cut thru digs/damage to the gelcoat. Other than that the hull is very good, needing oxidize removal and buff only to restore the VERY, DOCK RASH FREE HULL. It has the original cockpit area snap in carpet...aged. The sunbrella cockpit mooring cover is in need of repair or replacement some repairable tears and missing snaps, has two support rods. It has two complete Bimini tops with stainless piping...not shown...two Green and one white cloth top. One stainless Mercury propeller and one aluminum propeller. This is a nice boat, with some time reconditioning the gelcoat you'd have a really nice boat. I am experienced at restoring finishes and this boat is pretty free of dock rub damage with its stainless trim very good too. I bought this boat to make a little money. I have four boats under various stages of repair, plus a rental property undergoing major updates...no time to take this boat any further. I have described it fairly and honestly...The Auction is open to bid... It is not a game...It is an auction to buy. BID ONLY IF YOU INTEND TO PAY...BID ONLY WHAT YOU THINK IT IS WORTH. DO NOT BID TO DECIDE LATER IF YOU WANT IT...I don't have time to play games...I need to sell this boat and get it off my property soon. I have it registered in Rhode Island in my name...Title is Rhode Island, clear, free of lien...Title for boat expected shortly, registered November 2, 2018...see pictures, I will check with the DMV to see if a RI DMV title letter can be issued as well to insure proper registration in all states for the trailer...they issue them on cars twenty years and older, due to no title processing on vehicles this old...DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FUNDS TO PAY!!!
