Merry Christmas, Please remember the reason for the season,
Michael,
I bought this boat back in the spring. It was in great shape but, it had the usual soft floor as older boats do. I ripped out the entire floor all the way to the hull. My wife came unglued when she saw it. I built it back solid with 2x 8s and marine grade plywood. Every piece of wood was covered in fiberglass resin when the wood was cut to shape and after it was put together. Over 5 gallons of resin was used in the floor alone. The top deck was covered .5 oz. fiberglass mat topped with two coats of resin. The floor is constructed twice as good as it was from the factory. I fixed it to keep it. You cant get this kind of repair from boat repair shops. They use 2 x 2s and plywood like the factory does. The floor will outlast the boat.
The 5.7 Mercruiser was recently rebuilt. The previous owner stated it had less than 10 hours on it. I believe him as I found some of the receipts on the machining. The transom is solid. It does not appear to have any issues.
The fuel tank exterior showed signs of corrosion. I believe this happened because the Mercathode was not wired correctly causing the aluminum to become pitted. I didnt trust it and had a new one made. Oh, they just gave this thing away, not. $800.
The deck upholstery is in good shape. It looks like its been replaced at some point in the boats life. The cuddy upholstery is in good shape. I recovered the filler cushions. The wall fabric does have some stains. Please see the pictures.
The canvas top is one of the greatest features on this boat. It has at least 6 different configurations. You can use it as just a bimini, convertible or full top with or without side curtains. The rear canvas makes a full enclosure or a camper enclosure. It encloses the rear cushion that can be used as another bed. It is constructed out of Sunbrela fabric and looks to be in great shape. The Sunbrela brand is high quality stuff in the boat world. The side curtains could stand to be cleaned. Its on my list.
The Sea Ray trailer is included. It has surge disc brakes. It is in very good shape, although Im not sure it is the original trailer that came with the boat. Its blue in color. This rig pulls better than my Triton.
I have taken it out several times. The boat runs strong and idles perfectly. The outdrive functions as it should. Its easy to drive and rides great. It cruises at 3400 rpm and doesnt seem bad on fuel to me.
I have a ton of money invested in this boat. As I said, I fixed it to keep it. Lifes direction has changed my plans. I am anal and these repairs were done right. Who else would put a tile floor in a cuddy cabin? I believe it would make a great boat for you and your family. I have told you the straight story on this boat as I have to sleep at night. Despite my wifes wishes, Im ready to sell it. Im not hurting on it so, no low ball offers. Forget it, its a nice solid boat with a good engine. This boat is as close to new as you can get for this money. I have seen pieces of junk for sale on the internet for much more than this. Give me a call or shoot me a text with any questions.
