Great size motor for the 17ft. We had no problem towing adults behind boat on tubes. I purchased the "new to me" outboard motor last year from a outboard repair shop in town, and had it serviced at the same time. It did the trick, floor is solid, waterproof, etc however cosmetically I probably should have spent some more time lining up the corners to make it look a little better.Speed gauge currently does not work, gas gauge, lights, horn, etc work just fine. (all pieces are there, just haven't gotten around to completing, and we never really needed it when we were boating.) This is a 1991 (28 year old boat) so there are minor defects and you should not expect a brand new boat. HOWEVER I don't think you will be able to find a better deal out there. We took many trips last summer with this boat. (Lewis and Clark Lake, Okoboji, Fremont Lakes, etc) this is a perfect starter boat.Boat is located in covered garage in downtown omaha, NE if you would like to take a look at it.
