The Challenger 2000 is a sportboat powered by jet engines. She's versatile and can be used for a number of different water activities.Comfortable seating for up to eight. As you can see there's good room aboard the Challenger 2000. She has comfortable bucket-like seats that will keep you in when making tight turns. There's a built-in cooler and a glove box. There's a storage compartment and a built-in cooler on the starboard side of the boat. There's also a good grabhandle there to hold onto when cruising at high speeds.Captain's ReportThere are many benefits to having a jet-powered boat. With its direct-drive jet pump, it's one of the most maneuverable craft you'll drive. Jet pumps have many advantages, they add up to these four things; stronger acceleration, superior handling, better safety and improved shallow water operations. She draws only 12 inches! The Challenger 2000 is fully loaded with an AM/FM stereo with CD player and 12-volt jack for your cell phone. There's also a built-in cooler above the console to hold a six-pack of your favorite drinks. A large ski locker in the cockpit sole is big enough for two skis or a wakeboard. Sea-Doo has created incredible room on this 19-foot, 9-inch boat. Her bucket seats are a real neat feature and they will not only keep you in place in tight turns, but they are also comfortable. With room for eight people, you can invite all your friends aboard this versatile platform. Another plus to the Challenger 2000 is a choice of Mercury engines, either a 200- or 240-hp powerplant. These engines were developed by Mercury especially for Sea-Doo, says the company, and both have over-rev protection, along with low oil and engine overheat warnings. The mixed-flow, high-volume jet pump gives the boat excellent acceleration. There's also a hydro-surge intake grate on the bottom of the boat to keep weeds out of the impeller. The Challenger has 20 degrees of deadrise at the transom, which gives you the best ride possible in chop. We measured a quick hole-shot of 1.9 seconds to be exact. Its 2,100 lbs. is heavy enough for breaking through waves, but it doesn't hold the boat back. In fact, this boat hit a top speed of 49.9 mph at 5650 rpm and her optimum cruise was at 27.6 mph at 4000 rpm. This all adds up to 109 miles of fun at best cruising speed. Out in big water our test team was impressed with both her handling and the fact that everyone came back dry. Her 8-foot beam provided a stable ride and she cut right through waves like a samurai sword. Once aboard the Challenger 2000 you'll begin to understand why there's so much excitement about this boat. The Challenger has much more to offer than just a fun, fast ride. She's a versatile jet boat that can be used for a number of different water activities. Besides being attractive the Challenger is also nimble, fast and has very precise handling. We like what See-Doo has done here which is to marry jet-pump propulsion with a versatile sport boat concept
