Our 2010 Rinker 246 Captiva is a big and fast bowrider measuring in at over 26 feet. Shes roomy, yet sexy with an over-sized sun pad, enclosed head, and a sporty look all around. This is a One-owner boat with only 82 total hours of run time on her fuel-efficient 260 hp Mercruiser 5.0 MPI with Bravo III outdrive.

The 246 is very smooth, quiet, and solid out on the water and offers a comforting secure feeling with its deep cockpit, yet is extremely agile and predictable with no discernible bad habits. The dual bucket seats with flip-up forward bolsters are firm and supportive and at just the right height while the full U-shaped aft cockpit seating provides comfort and padding in all the right places.

Our boat is equipped with the unique optional flip-up recliner section to enhance the flexibility and utilization of the large aft sun pad. Storage abounds on the 246, not only in all of the usual places, but also in very accessible places like within the walk-thru to the cockpit, trunk storage in the transom, transom wakeboard storage with a rumble seat, plus a covered storage/cooler built right into the extended swim platform. In the cockpit, a refreshment center is standard. Additionally, there is a shower for rinsing off with and plenty of drink holders. The bow has enough room for four people to enjoy the snack table. Under the forward cushion is a deep anchor locker and at the forepeak there is a useful boarding ladder for effortless beach access.

The sporty helm gives the feel of a European performance car with a contoured tilt wheel taking center stage. Faria gauges are grouped for easy reading, and accessory toggle switches along with the stereo remote are within quick reach. On the companion side, Rinker installed a spacious compartment for changing into swim wear or for using a portable toilet. A convenient ski locker is situated between the two swivel bucket seats at the helm that feature flip-up bolsters and thick padding.

PERFORMANCEOur boat has the Mercruiser 5.0L V8 MPI engine with the reliable Bravo III outdrive with counter-rotating stainless steel props installed. The package cranks out 260 horsepower and gives the 246 Captiva an impressive top speed of over 50 MPH! Best cruise is achieved around 31 MPH.
