Was given the impression that this was carbureted and would be an easy project, turned out to be mpi but was already committed. Pulled it out, drained fluids and filled engine with diesel. Hot water pressure washed everything down, pulled gauges and electronics and put into distilled water. Soaked and cleaned cabin cushions and covers. Sat for a few weeks like that, rebuilt starter, drained diesel from block and water from fuel tank. Under an hour and had engine turning over at speed, but no fuel injection due to computer failure i suspect. Engine would cough and sputter by spraying fuel into intake.I have a video of the engine turning over. Fuel was being sprayed in the intake but it was providing its own spark. Message me for a copy. Before i was able to have the computer analyzed the starter went out (was the original one) and in the two weeks it sat while waiting on a new starter it seized again. I immediately filled it back up with diesel and thats how it has sat since. The hull is quite solidly built, reportedly an 80+ mph boat. No damage, cracks, or holes in hull but some oxide staining in spots. Has an in deck ice box between the seats, large glovebox, stereo system which im sure is shot but wiring and cutouts are ready for new gear. That big block straight piped out the back is going to have a great growl. The good:
- Took apart the trim motor and system, cleaned and flushed, works fine.
- Cleaned and lubricated engine room blower, even that works
- The Mercruiser high pressure fuel pump works but not receiving power from computer, has to be jumped.
- key works, was cranking from helm
- gauges seem to work
- New battery cables
- New starter
- Bennett dual ram performance trim tabs
- Bravo I outdrive with high speed pickup (has been removed for transport)
- Bravo I, 4 blade stainless prop, slight bend on one blade tip, 24p
- No fiberglass damage requiring repair, some rust staining
- Has been kept out of weather in storage, some dust but not exposed to rain or sun
- Big comfortable racing style bucket seats
- Gaffrig anodized aluminum racing throttle and shift
- Gas lift struts for rear deck/engine access work
- Full cabin cushion set, clean and stored indoors
- Custom fit sunbrella cover (not pictured)
- Custom colored heavy duty vinyl waterproof cabin cover
- Inline engine flush installed
- Easy oil drain connected to transom plug
- Stainless exhaust tips, straight piped.
- Engine filled completely with diesel, not turning over.
- No trailer
- Rear seat missing
- Leading cushion of sundeck missing
- ECU failed
- Raw water inlet port on port manifold broken off
- Trim tab position indicators non functional.
