This is a unique and strong Sea Sled, one of 3 ever built by the US military as a prototype and built to military specs (ie. over engineered hull is very strong)... Unique hull design that is Cat at the Bow fairing out to a mono hull at the Stern. The twin counter rotating Mercury 225hp V6 Black Max push her through 50 mph.
Engines are from around 1997 Port Engine good and running strong, Starboard engine has been bogging down and stalling when put in gear... Starts up perfect, revs up perfect, then when you put it in gear it seems to bog down.. I am not a mechanic and my skill set with these motors is very limited, pretty much needs to go to someone that knows what they are doing or has a reliable mechanic to have a quick look at this motor I'm sure it's something simple but I don't have the time nor patients to deal with it, I want to go sailing!!
So that's why the $1 no reserve auction.. Best Bid wins!
Compression tested last season all cylinders pretty even, between 100 & 108 lbs on both motorsWork That has been done recently: (within the past year)
Bottom end taken off both motors, trans serviced and new oil... New Water pumps and impellers, I have had the oil pumps taken off so both motors fuel is mixed in the tanks. They are for sure older motors but have been reliable , one possibility with the starboard motor is the fuel is old and I lost track of the oil gas mix, too much oil for sure....
New batteries battery switches
New Positive & Negative cables running to engines
New Lawrence GPS HD with fish finder
New VHF radio with emergency GPS locator
New LED navigation lights
New 1200 Watt JBL 4 speaker Bluetooth Sound System
There is a ton of wet wells and storage on board. I bought this as a project boat and have slowly been restoring all systems to reliable working condition. Other than this current situation with the starboard motor the Boat runs good and strong...
There are a couple of minor things I have not gotten around to...Wet well water and maceration pumps need wiring checked (not much of a fisherman so haven't bothered to work on these) just a matter of tracing wires etc..Port engine mount could do with replacing as the shim is gone, was planning to replace but boat operates fine in its current state...Starboard trim motor will need to be replaced.. I have the boat on a lift so have not needed to really use these....
Trim tabs do not currently work (well they do go down but not back up), had a boat repair place look at fixing them, replaced the hydrolic pump (new) and put in a new rocker switch, however, he cleverly cut out the relay unit which is needed to reverse pump so trim tabs will return to upright position...Again, I have not bothered to do anything about this as the boat gets up and flys without them once you hit 25 knots... Cruises all day at 35 knots with engines at 4000 rpm.
There is No trailer.
This is a great, fun, very strong, and fast ocean going boat, with a ton of space, handles choppy sea extremely well. weighs approx 8500lbs 30' long and approx 6'6" wide, draws about 2' 1/2 of water...We need it sold... , happy bidding.. Feel free to ask any questions
