FOR SALE 1976 PACEMAKER 48 "DON'T ASK" This Diesel Sport Fishing Yacht is built like a fortress. It is 48 feet long and it has a 15 foot beam. The hull is straked and has a 3/4 length keel and this makes it track well. The ahear dead rise and weight will knock down any unruly sea you find yourself in with ease. The boat is complete, it has the original low hour engines and runs out like a champ. It does not have any blisters or soft spots. The vessel is currently stored out of the water 35 miles south of Boston Harbor in Plymouth, Massachusetts. I can arrange for liveaboard dockage or moorings. THIS IS A LOT OF BOAT FOR MONEY.. .. It's powered by twin detroit diesels that were recently gone through and given a stamp of approval by a top Detroit Diesel mechanic. They truly run and shift perfectly. This vessel currently does not have a generator but it is plumbed and wired for a drop in. It has a rigid aluminum frame bridge canopy. Has an emclosure but the eisenglass panels are due for replacement. There's is heavy ground tackle including an anchor windlass with gypsy and chain. There are dinghy davits and chocks mounted on the foredeck that will hold up to a 12 foot tender. There is a new stainless steel refrigerator that was just installed. This is a Coast Guard Documented vessel and is currently endorsed for coastwise trade, fishery use or recreational use without anyrestrictions.. SO, SHE IS CHARTER READY ! Whether you want an income earner from tuna fishing, whale watching or harbor cruises. Or an bnb afloat or you want a liveaboard home. This is the right boat. The Pacemaker 48 has the ability and versatility. This boat is very stable. It was overbuilt on the Jersey Shore in 1976, at a time when Pacemaker was using twice the amount of fiberglass as other builders use today. The build quality on this little ship can be compared to other canyon runners such as Egg Harbor, Viking, Post, Bertram or even Hatteras. The Pacemaker 48 sportfish will hold its own with any of them. Theyhave a large following with a gross weight of 38 tons. This one has spent all of its life in New England with easy use. It has only had three owners and was recently with the same family for 25 years. It has not been mistreated though has sat out the past twoseasons. It does needs a good cleaning and going over of the systems. However a complete restoration is an option depending on the buyers taste and intended use. Hopefully someonewho is handy and one who appreciates the strength and quality of these overbuilt yachts will by it. The twin dependable workhorse Detroit Diesel 8V92 TI'S put out 425 horsepower each. Theyhave low time on them and have recently been given a clean bill of health by a topmechanic. They operate flawlessly. Putting out 425 horsepower each. They are not tweaked up as many Detroits were to produce more horsepower thus assuring that these engines will have incredible longevity if maintained properly. Parts if ever needed are readily available and relatively inepensive. The same motors were used in WW2 tanks, trucks and much of the naval fleet inluding landing craft. These Detroits with bullet holes in them, would still get the men back to base and safety. I know this because my father served inWW2 and then after 1945 for almost 40 years in the Boston Navy Shipyard, working on them. ......Sorry, excuse me, Blah Blah.. Back to the boat... The bronze and stainless steel running gear is in perfect shape. No corrosion or damage history. Cutlets bearings are fine and all is straight and aligned for smooth runniing . The hull shines, decks and hull are solid. No blistering or soft spots. (one smalll area on the bridge has been repaired) She has a dinghy cradle and davit on the foredeck. Has the optional walk through transomIt has a strong anchor windlass with gypsyband spool. For the chain and rope rode. . The hulls original gelcoat still holds its shine and is without scratches or damage. The teak interior cabinetry is in great shape. This is the galley up model. The vessal has a huge bridge and cockpit as well as abundant living space below. It's easy to operate with excellent visibility from its single helm on the bridge. It turns on a dime even with a lot of wind because of the wide beamed motor placement.Ok now for some bad, It does need some TLC and modernizing. Attention is needed on the fresh water system and the heads. It needs new carpet or if preferred a wood flooring. All in all, the interior needs to be freshened up and decorated including salon furniture and bed linen. All tp be expected on this vintage vessel and reflected in the low price. What is convenient is that classifieds board, Home Depot and Harbor Freight tools has almost anything that you would need to bring her to be seafit and comfortable.Whether you have resale on your mind or you choose to charter it out, you can be confident that this tough boat is agood investment. Yes! You heard me. Buying the right boat is a good investment. If interested, I will explain why that is. "DON'T ASK" is currently offered for a quick sale at $12,500. This yacht is economical to run and has very beautiful low and sleek lines. It's fair to say that with the right owner will still be floating and running long after most of us are gone. There a lot of good living left in her and after an easy refit she will make the new owner proud at any marina. I will be adding more specs and photos this weekend. If desired, I will assist the new owner with securing Liveaboard dockage, a base for charter or a mooring either in a prime location of downtown Boston. There are also options on the North or South Shore. ***Inspections are invited before purchase. A $500 deposit is required with buy it now or accepance of offer. Deposit can be made via CashApp orVenmo. The balance is due within 7 days, preferably bybank transfer....I have had a abstract of title pulled andhere isn't any liens or encumberace's on this vessel. However, for the buyers peace of mind and the ease of transfer, I do recommend using a licenced and bonded documentation agents service to transfer ownership. I can recommend one. The average cost for that is $600 and this is the buyers responsibility. It's the same cost to prepare the paperwork for state registration but keep in mind that the Coast Guard documenration is current and the ammendments in place add a good deal of value to the vessel. Excuse me for the longdesciption. I couldn't help myself. I really love this boat. Here is some food for thought. Even if the buyer is a minimalist and simply puts some lipstick on her then head out to Stellwagon Bank, (the edge is just a few away hours at cruise). The tuna and blues are biting like crazy each season and landing one big tuna could cover the cost of this boat and then some. Recently, someone pulled in a 10 foot long, 1000 plus pounder. This boat was built with that in mind. Just some food for thought.. I'd like to help and the dockmaster here in my marina is friends with one of those Gloucester TV stars. I will go out on an ledge here and say that I will bring the buyer of this boat up there for a chat with him. Life is short -Carpe Diem.Lastly, You might opt to just splash it and spiffy it up over time. Tinkering on a boat is actually therapeutic. Some of yu might understand this.Ok, There, That's enough for now. I think I covered it all and then some. If you have any questions. I am here to help. Call Captain Tom with any questions, @phone.....
