Zodiac Hurricane 733
- 24' Custom Cabin RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) -
You are bidding on a unique, one of a kind custom Zodiac Hurricane 733 rigid inflatable boat with custom aluminum cabin and cockpit solar canopy. It utilizes the proven ZHT military spec hull and incorporates features for all weather protection and extended cruising. The following paragraphs detail the primary features and condition of sale.
Hull- The deep V fiberglass hull is the standard military spec design that Zodiac utilizes for Special Operations and rescue organizations around the world. The hull has never been painted and has no known structural defects or problems other than a couple of minor dings.
Inflatable Tubes- The tubes are made of neoprene/hypalon and have painted lettering. They have custom attachment flaps to the cabin and a previously existing vinyl cockpit enclosure, plus a custom stainless bow roller for the anchor rode. The tubes leak overnight and would need troubleshooting - they show their age and use.
Custom Cabin- the cabin and cockpit canopy frame are aluminum and have no known structural defects. The entire cabin is flange bolted to stainless inserts in the deck, with the sides contoured to receive the tubes (the cabin does not rest on the tubes). The cockpit canopy incorporates four 43 watt solar panels. Two openings in the deck can be seen inside the cabin - they permit access to thru-hull fittings suitable for a watermaker and head.
Self-Righting System- The aluminum arch above the transom is a Self-Righting System. I've never had to use it so it will need a recharge and servicing.
Propulsion- The boat has a MerCruiser Bravo II drive that turns easily by hand and had no known mechanical problems when last used. This unit has about 400 hours on it. A 19x19 aluminum prop will be included in the sale. The original engine was a MerCruiser D636 but it has been sold - the boat does not come with an engine but the engine mount remains in place.
Fuel Tanks and System- There are three large below-deck custom aluminum fuel tanks with a combined capacity of approximately 280 gallons. The tanks occupy all the space forward of the engine compartment below deck and can be inspected/cleaned thru large access plates that can be seen in the pictures. The fuel system was used for diesel and biodiesel - each tank has a supply and return line which terminate at separate manifolds. All fuel lines are Parker Hannifin flexible stainless steel with Teflon interior - the twin manifolds allow switching and fuel transfer between tanks. There are no known leaks or problems but cleaning is recommended before use. All of the tanks are bolted in place and could be removed if desired.
Systems and Equipment- The photos show trim systems and miscellaneous systems and parts mounted in the engine compartment and elsewhere - these will be sold with the boat but the buyer should assume they will all need troubleshooting or replacement.
Trailer- A twin axle, full roller trailer with surge brakes is included with the sale.
Commercial Use- Law requires that any boat used to carry cargo or passengers for commercial purposes between US ports must have been built in America. This boat was built by Zodiac primarily in Canada. However, I obtained an official exemption to this law because so much custom work was done in the USA, so the boat can be used for commercial purposes if desired.
Conditions of Sale- The boat is offered as is, where is - what you see is what you will get. I don't know of any significant problems but must sell as-is because I haven't had it surveyed or in the water recently. The boat is located in Fairfield, Iowa 52556 and is available for inspection and/or survey. The boat is being offered thru other venues and could be removed from classifieds board at any time. The sale will be final so please ask any questions and inspect the boat prior to sale.
Removal and Shipping- The boat must be removed within 20 days - all shipping arrangements and related cost are the responsibility of the buyer. However, if arrangements are agreed upon prior to auction close, I could deliver the boat on it's trailer for $.50 per round trip mile within North America.
