Whirlwind DELUXE

Classic wooden 1956 Whirlwind 14 Deluxe with Mercury Mark 55 outboard motor. Trailer is included. Whirlwind boats were produced from 1948 to 1962 in Cockeysville, Maryland. The company produced wooden airplane gliders for the military during WW2. After the war they converted the factory to manufacturing boats. These boats were made of 5 layers of mahogany veneer, glued together at sharp angles, then baked in an oven for one hour at 375 degrees. They were known to be light, strong and fast. This boat I restored using all top quality materials including CPES and marine grade coatings. I did have to redeck the boat as the original decking was not able to be saved. Hardware is original, steering wheel is Mercury and it has a Mercury splash pan too. I restored the motor, it is painted Marlin Blue and Gulf Blue. New ignition components, carburetor rebuild, and water pump service were done. Trailer is a Holsclaw, I believe, and has been restored too. I only used this boat a few times after restoration, the last time about 5 years ago. It has been stored in a garage in New York State and have decided to sell.
