Beautiful older-restored 1965 Century Resorter 17 ft "woody" with a Fireball V8 engine and dual exhaust known for water skiing and speed. This model was chosen as the official boat for the national and international ski competition. It was also the boat of choice for Cypress Gardens and the official Water Ski Association's tow boat. The open hull allows complete freedom of movement and great adaptability while retaining the grace and beauty Century is known for. (History of the Century Boat). It's known for being wide and roomy, easily fits three adults in the front and back. Front seat has swing door for easy access to the back vs crawling over the front seat. The Resorter easily stores water skis, wakeboards, fishing poles, and other water toys. This upgraded model has the pearl white vinyl on the top decking which was designed to accent the surrounding beautiful mahogany wood and provide less maintenance. It is also loaded with the newest accessories and full chrome upgraded accent brightworks including: extra wide chrome bow accent, dual deck horns, spotlight controlled from the dash, large V-front air scoop, large front navigation light, chrome wrap around molded windshield, full array of chrome gauges and knobs, modernized chrome accented steering wheel with throttle on column, convex water skiing rear view mirror, side deck chrome air scoops, front and back swept-line step pads in chrome frames, engine compartment dual side chrome air vents and latch, dual rear air scoops, chrome gas cap, custom chrome Century ladder, upgraded chrome Century lettering on side (not decals), all cleats and tie hooks are chrome. It also has the large stern-mounted red accent chrome Century V emblem which became known as the "last thing Chris Craft owners saw when the Century passed them". The 1965 Resorter has all the improvements by Century over the years and modernization while maintaining its classic look.Interior is red and white vinyl; the Century is known for its red "lipstick" color. The inside side panels are vinyl with storage cubby holes.Has been well maintained over the years by a marina that specialized in wood boats. Used all last year. Marina prepped for the season which included replacing hoses, rebuilt the carburetor. Ran all season with no issues. Reliable boat. We only use marine grade fuel. Our children loved driving it all over the lake with our grandchildren. To our amazement, they enjoy this boat more than our modern Crownline. We used the Century for pleasure riding only and the Crownline for water sports.Still has its original bottom. Boat has always been stored indoors in a marina. When we put it in for winter storage, we had the marina inspect it, and they now recommend replacing the bottom. Great time to put on a modern 5200 or West system bottom making it more versatile as the boat won't have to be soaked every time you take it out of the water or up on a lift which you have to do with a traditional bottom. Could be a fun and satisfying do-it-yourself project over the winter so it is ready next summer. The marina where it is at specializes only in wood boats and does the 5200 system. Once the bottom is done, you should have years of enjoyment as the rest has already been done. This model is sought after and a great investment.Have clear title, hull number ID available, current registration, and insured by Hagerty Insurance. Includes standard trailer with new tires, and bearings cleaned and greased last year. The boat is located near the Traverse City area at the marina. Inspections need to be arranged by appointment. Want you to be happy with your purchase, so highly encourage inspecting the boat or hiring someone to do so. You are free to discuss the condition of the boat with the marina owner or me. He has a very busy schedule, so will only give out phone number to serious inquiries. Feel free to contact me any time Bruce phone.$1,000 deposit required within 48 hours. Full payment within 7 days. Needs to be picked up before end of the season unless you make arrangements with the current marina that does storage. Buyer responsible for moving the boat. Being sold as is, where is, and needing new bottom. This is one of the beautiful classic woodies. When you hear its rumble on the water, people come out looking and admiring its beauty. Every year when put in the water, everything stops at the launch and people gather to look, ask questions, and lots of thumbs up. The marina owner refers to this boat as the "chick magnet".The reason I am selling this boat is that I also have several other boats including a vintage woody with a restored 5200 bottom and vintage sports cars. Being 74, it is time to downsize and get the Century to a new good home. The Century Club is a great resource of information, support, and a friendly group.
