A great project platform from the famous Ventnor Boat Company makers of champion racing craft and pleasure runabouts. This hull measures 18 feet in length along the gar boards a common practice of the period. The hull is dated by the engine since there are no factory records on the hull number. So you can call this a 1946 1947 1948 or even 1949 though from looking at the Graymarine serial number list I would call it a 1947. I am fairly knowledgeable regarding Ventnor boats and Graymarine engines and happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. This is a fairly "easy" boat to restore in that it is basically a plywood hull with mahogany accents and decking. Windshield frame, cleats, lifting ring, 3 step pad frames are shiny new chrome, 1 step pad frame is old chrome. Note the rear lifting rings are under the floor. I have an original vent that copies may be cast from but I need it for another project. Fuel filler is on the boat. I do not have the transom vents. You may choose a set of chocks and stern pole base from my parts inventory. Other hardware is pretty generic and easily sourced. I have several Ventnor steering columns and steering wheels to choose from. The motor box pieces are also all there just not shown, I probably have other odds and ends I'm forgetting about. Also have piles of Graymarine parts and will try and fill out the missing engine items but plan on needing a donor engine at some point. I know of a correct Ventnor converted Ford six cyl engine that is available from someone who has done a very authentic restoration of this model boat.Along with the boat you will have access to my considerable collection of Ventnor and Graymarine literature as well as all of my restoration contacts. The boat is sitting on a serviceable trailer, I pulled it 700 miles home, though I would recommend putting on a set of tires if you are planning on towing it long distance. And you will need a set of lights. Storage is not a problem but I would like to see it moved along before winter sets in. It's currently sitting outside under tarp. There is no title or paperwork for this boat, it has been out of any state system for years, decades maybe. I am the owner and will provide a bill of sale to the buyer if needed. Please ask any questions in a timely manner, I'm happy to take pictures of any part of the boat by request.
