The 26-foot Motor Whaleboat MK 10 is intended for use as a lifeboat, officer's boat, Shore party boat, mail boat, or gig and is manned by a two man crew. The boat has the capacity of 20 men , including crew.Most of the mechanical and electrical components where manufactured for commercial use and can be replaced with parts available from commercial sources. It has a full speed of 7 knots (8.05 mph)with a range of 110 nautical miles ( 123.6 standard miles) full range, full load. It usually burns less than a gallon an hour with 5to 10people in it, an amazingly efficient boat. That's why a lot of these find their way into harbor excursions or commercial fishing.
