Trumpy Design, Built By Navy Shipyards, Bremmerton

The HYAK started life as a 50' utility boat designed by John Trumpy & Sons, and built in the Navy shipyards, Bremmerton, Wa. 1942. (Have the original blueprints). The hull is 2" cypress, over oak ribs. She still has the original low block 671 Gray Marine diesel which runs fine. She saw service in the Aleutians during WWII, and then sold into private hands, re-outfitted for charter and has been in that service through today. She has four 175 gal. copper tanks, three used for fuel and one for potable water. She has a 50 gal 'day' tank which is used to supply diesel for the galley range and the main salon furnace, 5 gal. hot water heater, and 5kw generator. She is iron barked from bow to mid-ship. She sleeps 4 in single bunks plus a double berth in the foc'sle. A head with holding tank and shower. She comes completely outfitted with life jackets, float coats and survival suits, 20 mile radar, marine radio, chart plotter, depth finder, anchors, stabilizers, spare prop and 10' fiberglass punt. She is a great old classic, but needs hull work, and TLC. The boat is presently out of the water.
