I have owned 5 Taylor SS Jets and loved them all.Never had so much fun in my life as i have in a Taylor SS and im 55 and my dad was a Boat Dealer from the 1957 till 1995.If you know anything about Oscar Taylor his boats won every award that was out there and but Glastron of of the Jet Business. They offered 4 different motors a 460 Ford,454 Chevy,403 & 455 Olds.Ive owned all 4 and the Olds is the best and most dependable of the all.I bought this boat from an older Gentle that keep it in his climate controlled Garage sence he bought it from his best friendin 1978 and it was kept on a lift at a marina from day one and the org. Taylor Trailor was also kept in a garage and still has the org. paint to match the boat with no rust what so ever with new 5 ply tires and new bearings. Now if you know these boats youll also know that the fastest production car at the time was a 205 plus mph Ford Pantera that cost 15 grand and so did the Taylor SS.In 2010 the motor was getting tired so he pulled the motor and the Berkley Jet out and and the interior and replaced all the stringers and floors with treatedMarine plywood and redid all of the seats the rear of the wood on the bilge side of the couch plus replaced the whole swim deck with the same treated wood. This boat is solid as Sears,He also bought a 400 hp long block and rebuilt the jet pump.He said at the end of last season that the org Holly Carb was running rich and sent me a rebuild kit for it.I have learned over the years that an Edelbrock 600 is the best for the 455 Olds. These boats were bad about running out of gas and with the 600 you can set it up where it will run a good 50 mph before you get into the 4 barrel, and it will go 27 miles on 6.5 gals.and that is kicking it a couple of time on the way.plus i always installed a 30 gal tank that is already there that i completely pumped out just the other day with no moisture in it what so ever and did a compression test and and thay were all with 5 pounds of each other .The other flaws were the windshields that Landlubbers would always hanging there anchor on the railing that bent them and made them look Bad.
The only thing that was ever tied to this on was a bumper and it has no bend or cracks what so ever and the was only one place in Washington State thar reproduced them and they were 1250.00 back in 2006.This is the time of year to buy you a little Insurance for the summer.I have two many toys and im selling it on NO RESERVE AUCTION. Who wins the boat will be glad they did.I have all the paperwork so it will be an transfer for anyone. If you have any questions please leave me you # and a good time to call and ill promply get right back to you. Thanks for looking and God Bless. Payment Instructins
