Tartan 41

The Sparkman & Stephens designed Tartan 41 (T-41) - like the Swan 41 - is an almost identical version of the original custom racing sloop commissioned by British PM Sir Edward Heath. Morning Cloud was so successful on the international racing circuit that the designer agreed to put it into production resulting in the T-41 and the Swan 41. The boats had a remarkable impact on ocean racing and were so well built that most, despite being 40+ years, show no structural problems and are still racing and cruising today. Tartan, in conjunction with Sparkman & Stephens, produced a number of excellent boats with fine reputations - of them all the T-41 is probably the most elegant and exciting to sail.
